Story Time:
Once upon a time, Joseph was a powerful leader in Egypt. He had been through many hard times,
but now he was helping people in a big way. There was a famine in the land, and Joseph's family, far
away, was hungry. So Joseph invited his father, Jacob, and his brothers to come and live in Egypt, where
there was plenty of food.
Jacob and his family were very happy to be together again. Joseph took his father to meet
Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Pharaoh was kind and asked Jacob how old he was. Jacob told him he was
130 years old, and Pharaoh thought that was amazing! Pharaoh made sure Jacob and his family had land
to live on and plenty of food to eat.
Joseph was so wise. He saved food during the good years so there would be enough when the
famine came. Everyone in Egypt was thankful to Joseph for keeping them safe and fed.
One day, when Jacob was very old and sick, he called for Joseph to visit him. Joseph brought his
two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, to see their grandfather. Jacob knew it was time to bless his family. He
put his hands on their heads to pray for them. Even though Manasseh was the older son, Jacob chose to
bless Ephraim, the younger one. Joseph was surprised, but Jacob explained that God had chosen Ephraim
for something special.
Jacob also promised Joseph that his children would be part of God's big plan and that God would
always be with them. He gave his blessings to all of his children, telling them that God would guide them
through life.
And so, Joseph’s family was safe in Egypt, and they knew that God’s love would be with them
forever.
