Lab Report CA (3)

The lab report focuses on the verification of Ohm's Law through practical experiments involving resistors and measuring devices. The results indicated a direct proportionality between current and voltage, confirming Ohm's Law, although some deviations were noted due to measurement limitations. The report includes detailed procedures, results, and discussions, along with contributions from the participating students.

3.1 Title: Verification of Ohm’s Law

3.2 Abstract:
The lab's primary goal is to provide real-world evidence for Ohm's Law. Devices for measuring current
will be used to track changes in voltage for a fixed resistance. The graph produced as a consequence of
numerous measurements will show that current and voltage are directly proportional.
3.3 Introduction:
Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the
voltage across the two points. The linear relationship between current and voltage will be demonstrated
in this lab. Plots between current and voltage at various resistances will be made. If the current through
a conductor is 'I' and the potential difference between two endpoints of that conductor (also known as
voltage) is 'V,' then according to Ohm's law:
V∝I
Or, (V/I) = constant = R [Here, R stans for the resistance]
Or, V=IR
The objective of this experiment is to prove Ohm’s law i.e., the relationship between the current
flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference at its ends
3.4 Equipment:
 DMM
 Digital trainer
 Resistor 3 NOS; 470 resistor, 1000 resistor, 3.3k resistor.
3.5 Procedure:
1. Determine the resistor's value using colour coding before using a DMM.
2. Create the table using 470 resistors, then set the DMM to measure DC current and place it onto a line.
Set the zero-voltage source and note the results.
3. Theoretical current value is known to be zero, and any value other than zero results in an undefinable
deviation.
4. After that, we set E to 2 volts, calculate the theoretical current using Ohm's rule, and note it.
Calculate the variance by measuring the actual current.
5. Keep in mind that variation equals 100*(measured - theory)/theory.
Repeat step 3 with the remaining source voltages, recording values as you go.
7. Disconnect the 470 ohm and connect the 1 kilo Ohm in its stead. Steps 2 through are repeated.
8. Substitute the 3.3 kilo Ohm for the 1 kilo Ohm. Repeat steps two through four and note results.
3.6 Result:

3.7 Discussion:
The lab's primary goal is to provide real-world evidence for Ohm's Law. At first we took resistors and
found their resistor codes having certain tolerance. We then used a DMM to find its resistance. It was
much precise value. Then we measured value for each resistor. With the help of value of V and R, we
found the value of I. We later used Lab trainer to find the value of I. We found that there is a little
deviation in its value. It was because of inexperience of the performer and many other factors such as
environmental factors. We found that these values give a straight line which verifies the Ohm Law. We
then verified Ohm Law for different resistors.

3.8 Conclusion:
A circuit must adhere to Ohm's Law, which states that current increases as voltage increases, as seen by
the linear graph that emerged from the experiment.
There were, however, certain instances where there was a significant difference between the measured
value and the theoretical value. This occurs as a result of the measurement tools' limitations and the
poor resistance.
