Material:
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) 100% cotton Abbreviations used:
e.g. Catania Solids by Schachenmayr SMC Chain (CH)
Yardage: 136 yards (124 meters) Slip stitch (SlSt)
Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces)
Gauge: 26.0 sts = 4 inches Single crochet (SC)
Half double crochet (HDC)
You will need small amount of these colors:
Colors: Double crochet (DC)
105 beige, 219 light green Increasing (inc): 2 SC in same
222 light pink, 115 red, 256 raspberry,
146 turquoise, 173 light blue stitch
Decreasing (dec): crochet 2 SC
Hook: 3 mm
together
Other material:
needle with blunt tip, common needle, crafts buttons average 6 - 15 mm, Toho cubes
round 6/0 average 4 mm

The size of the finished coaster: width 16 cm ( 6,3 inches), height 13 cm ( 5,1
inches)

Instruction:
Coaster:
Crochet with light blue color yarn (two threads), hook 3 mm. You will crochet
continuously in spiral circle rounds – it means that you will NOT join the rounds.

Round 1: 2 CH, 7 SC in second SC from hook (7 SC)

Round 2: inc in each stitch around (14 SC)


Round 3: 1 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (21 SC)

Round 4: 2 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (28 SC)


Round 5: 3 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (35 SC)
Round 6: 4 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (42 SC)
Round 7: 5 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (49 SC)
Round 8: 6 SC, inc – repeat it 7 times totally (56 SC)

Round 9: 1 SC in every stitch from previous round (56 SC)


Round 10: 1 SC in next 40 stitches, end the work.

Lid:
Crochet with light green color yarn (two threads), hook 3 mm.
Row 1: Inset a hook next to the stitch of ending of blue part and make 1 SC in next 2
stitches, 1 HDC in next stitch, 1 DC in next 9 stitches, 1 HDC in next stitch, 1 SC in next
2 stitches, 1 SlSt in next stitch, end the work. Don't turn the work

Row 2: Insert hook in 7th stitch from previous round and make 1 SC, 5 DC in next stitch,
1 SlSt in next stitch, end the work.

Rest of the teapot (funnel):


Crochet with light blue color yarn (two threads), hook 3 mm.

Row 1: Insert hook in 7th stitch from the lid and make 1 SC in next 4 stitches, 1 DC in
next 2 stitches, (6 stitches) 1 CH for turn the work, turn
Row 2: skip first stitch from previous round and make 1 SC in next 3, dec (4 SC), 1 CH
for turning the work, turn

Row 3: 1 SC in next 2, dec (3 SC) 1 CH for turning the work, turn


Row 4 – 5: 1 SC in next 3 stitches (3 SC), 1 CH for turning the work, turn
Row 6: skip first stitch, 1 SC in next stitch, 1 SlSt, end the work

Edge: use beige yarn (one thread), hook 3 mm


Insert a hook in the stitch next left edge of the lid. Working in back loops only and make
6 SC
make SC as usual: 1 SC in next 6 stitches from previous round, inc, 1 SC, inc, 1 SC in
next 7 stitches
working in back loops only again to the end of the round. Make 1 SlSt in first SC of right
edge of the lid, end the work.

Working in back loops

Shaped the teapot by hands on sides. Fasten free threads.

Ruffle:
Use light green color yarn (one thread), hook 3 mm
Row 1: make 16 relief back single crochet, 1 CH for turning the work, turn

Tip 3:
Relief back single crochet is made by wrapping the yarn over the hook, taking the
hook from the back and from the right to left round the stitch to be worked and the
completing the single stitch normally as always.

Row 2: 6 DC in first stitch, (skip one stitch, 1 SlSt in next stitch, skip one stitch, 6 DC in
one stitch) repeat to the of the row, 1 SlSt, end the work. Embroider the ruffle with
beads. Fasten free threads.

Add beads as a tea-thread. The beads will be under the ruffles.

Handle:
Crochet with light pink color yarn (two threads), hook 3 mm
Row 1: 22 CH
Row 2: insert hook in second stitch from the hook and make 1 SC in every stitch from
previous round (21 SC), end the work.

Sew the handle on the backside of the coaster.

Flower: Use red color yarn (one thread) hook 3 mm


Beginning: 5 CH – join in the circle by 1 SlSt
Round 1: 1 CH, 10 SC, join first SC by 1 SlSt
Round 2: 1 SlSt, (5 DC in next stitch, 1 SlSt in next stitch) – repeat 4 times again, end
the work

Sew the button in the middle of the flower and sew the flower on the handle

Tea tag: Work with raspberry color yarn (one thread), hook 3 mm
Beginning: 8 CH, don't turn the work
Row 1: first 3 CH as a 1st DC, insert hook in 4th stitch from the hook and make 5 DC,
turn the work
Row 2: 1 CH, 1 SC in next 4 stitches, 3 SC in upper stitch, 1 SC in next 4 stitches, end
the work.
