I. Objectives: At the end of a 120-minute lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the points that will help the success of the project;
b. reflect the social changes in your community; and
c. construct a concept paper in developing ICT project for
social change.

Discussion
 ICT all technologies used to store, retrieve, transmit
and manipulate information.
 Includes hardware, software, networks and
applications.
 Social Change significant alterations in structures,
behavior, values, norms and cultural patterns over
time.
 Reshape the way people live together in societies.

Social change can be driven by a variety of factors,


including:
 Shifts in political system
 Technological advancements
 Societal attitudes
 Economic transformations
 Environmental factors

“Due to social changes that driven by a variety of


factors, there are ways that we need to address the issue.
By addressing the factors, we need to undergo to formal
process.”

 Concept Paper is a document used to convinced a


panel of potential funders

 Five Elements of Concept Paper:


Introduction – includes your group’s mission and
vision and a brief introduction of your project.
Purpose – includes the reasons why this project is
worth your group and your sponsor’s time, effort,
and money.
Description – includes all the necessary information
about the project. In ICT, it involves the sites you are
going to produce and the purpose of each and how
they work in unison.
Support – contains the budget needed for the
project.
Contact Information – includes the information on
how the group can be contacted.

 Your project/campaign must meet the SMART


criteria:
S – Specific
M –Measurable
A – Achievable
R – Relevant
T – Time-bounded
Simplified ICT Project Process Overview:

Planning which involves the conceptualize project,


research about the topic, set meetings and deadlines,
assign tasks, find a host, create a site map, list down
all applications and output that needed and consider
funding.
Development involving the actual creation of the
website involves the production of images and
infographics.
Release and Promotion which involves the actual
release of the website for public view and promoting
it. Promotion typically starts before the actual
release.
Maintenance which involves responding to feedback
of your site visitors and continuing to improve the
website.

REMEMBER:
o ICT Projects begin in planning with a common
goal of providing a better and improved living
condition in a community.
o Social changes are made through the use of
campaigns. Campaigns help us promote and
organize projects properly.
o A campaign project must meet the SMART
criteria. This means that it should be specific,
measurable, attainable, realistic, & time-
bounded.
o Preparing for a campaign observes a simplified
step-by-step ICT Project Process. These are the
following: Planning, Development, Release and
Promotion, and Maintenance.

REFLECT:
o The power of media and technology in
affecting change. Always remember to use
this with extra care so as not to step on the
rights of others. Use the power of media in
affecting social change with careful
planning and promotion processes.

The student will pick a number from 1-38 and whoever
chooses the number will answer the questions.
