3 Job Safety analysis


1 General
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this method statement is to ensure that Demolish Old Building Work that
containing exposure to asbestos materials in factory area at PT. Etex Building Performance
Indonesia.

1.2 Scope of Work


This method statement covers the Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) for use in demolish
work at old office building.

1.3 EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety Plan)


All EHS requirements will be in accordance with PT. Asuka Engineering Indonesia and Major
Hazard Standards. Specific JSAs or Standards Operation Procedures will be provided as
required and needed.

1.4 Standards
 Undang-undang Republik Indonesia No. 1 Tahun 1970 tentang Keselamatan Kerja.
 Undang-undang Republik Indonesia No. 13 Tahun 2003 tentang Ketenagakerjaan
 Peraturan Menteri Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi No. PER.01/MEN/1980

2 Procedure
2.1 Preparation
 Make sure the workers in a healthy condition.
 Make sure the workers are already proficient existing ESH Regulation
 Make sure the tools and equipment properly
 Make sure the PPE completed and properly

2.2 Safety Sign


 Safety sign use to remind worker and stakeholder from the potential danger and how to
avoid the danger that is in the work area. Safety sign for this work herewith :
- Safety sign for blocked area (traffic block)
- Safety sign for work at height
- Safety sign for ACM Area
- Safety sign must be use complete PPE

2.3 Confine Work Area


 Set out and mark the building to be demolish, and mark the zone to proposed for
barricade / cover area with safety line.
 Install the safety sign for blocked area (traffic block)
 Install the scaffolding boundary with height refer to propose top building roof
 Covering the scaffold with blue sheet around the area for work area (outside the platform
asiba has been installed)
 The blue sheet must be covere to all building to demolish to confining work area
2.4 Sequence of Demolition
2.4.1 Scaffolding Habitat

2.4.2 Temporary Access / People Traffic


2.4.3 Protection existing equipment (transformer)

2.4.4 Protection LV Room, SM#3 Room & DMA Area (temporary ceiling)

2.4.5 Protection existing Cables & Pipeline (LV Room & SM#3 Room)

2.4.6 Reposition Existing Cables & Steam Pipe (DMA Area)

2.5 Precaution of Asbestos Materials Exposure


 Use the PPE complete for ACM work especially ;
- Safety Helmet, safety glass, safety shoes and cover shoes, dot rubber hand glove
- Disposal Coverall microgard
- Masker N100
 Make the 3 section of chamber for access to entry the ACM work Area (free area,
transition area, ACM area)
 In the chamber of transition, the vacuum cleaner and duster must be standby. The
worker must be to clean the PPE in this area after work from ACM Area. PPE must be
stored properly in the chamber of transition area.
 Execute demolish materials ACM step by step start from the vacuum work – sprayer
work – deployment of material ACM – wrapping work - labelling

2.6 Emergency Response Plan


 Emergency Response Plan (ERP) includes emergency procedures for managing the
situation, the emergency facilities, and instructions for the evacuation procedures, alarm
and emergency facilities.
 Make sure the first aid box to is available at the site, and flowchart of ERP mounted on a
information board.

2.7 Safe for Work at Height


 Use the PPE complete for work at height work especially ;
- Safety Helmet, safety glass, safety shoes, hand glove
- Full body harness (double hook)
 Monitoring the blood pressure for worker which specially job work at height
 Follow the regulation work at height in this site
 Safe work at height poster attached

2.8 Tools & Equipment


Contractor must be checking continue the tools & equipment and give the tag for that these
tools were suitable use.
Propose the tools/equipment list to be used when their work as in the table below :

2.9 Asbestos Containing Material Storage


Asbestos Containing Materials must be cover with plastic wrapping. Before wrapping, this
materials must be approved refer to dust measurer from user, and give the labelling “ACM
Materials” ACM materials is kept inside the ACM project area until it is transported outside the
plant

2.10 Monitoring Program


 Monitoring the blood pressure for worker which specially job ACM Work
 Restriction the number of worker which specially job ACM Work
 Record the number of manpower which specially job ACM Work (in/out form attached)
 The workers of ACM use the specially filter (from owner) to monitoring asbestos continue
by owner
 EHS weekly report

3 Job Safety analysis


Job Safety Analysis (JSA) contain the details employment of completion steps start to work,
identifying potential danger and accident work based on measures that had been determined
and determine the steps based on hazards control on each steps work.
