In 2008, Adele released her first album, “19”. The tittle refers to the
age at which she wrote most of the tracks. She became a household
name for her ability to channel her emotional experiences into songs
that had wide resonance. Also earned comparisons to Amy
Winehouse. A performance on an American television program helped
introduce her to American audiences. She won her first Grammy for
the song “Chasing Pavements” and embarked on a US tour that lasted
until June 2009.
In 2011, released “21” her second album, with singles like “Rolling in
the deep” and “Someone like you”, song that hit number one in
multiple countries including Latin America. Unfortunately, Adele was
forced to cancel two tours because of a vocal-cord haemorrhage
which maintained her out of the stages, until 2012 after a successful
throat surgery. Adele made her live comeback at the 2012 Grammy
Awards. She won in all six categories for which she was nominated,
making her the second female artist in Grammy history, after
Beyoncé, to win that many awards in a single night. The success of
the album overwhelmed Adele, and she needed time to recharge.
After her hiatus and the release of 25 in 2015, Adele began to make
subtle changes to her lifestyle. However, her physical transformation
became more noticeable around 2019–2020, when she started
sharing photos on social media that revealed significant weight loss.
