ANALYSIS OF THE CONSOLIDATED ORAL READING VERIFICATION


RESULTS IN ENGLISH FOR THE 1ST AND 2ND QUARTER OF THE
SCHOOL YEAR 2022-2023

Table 1 and Table 2 shows the Consolidated Oral Reading Verification (ORV) Results in
English for the 1st and 2nd Quarter of the School Year 2022-2023.

During the 1st Quarter, the school recorded a total of 313 enrollments from Grades 2 to
6, composing of 150 males and 163 females. All pupils were tested individually. Only 8 of
the 313 pupils or 2.66% of the total enrollees were independent readers, 34 of the 313
pupils or 10.86% of the total enrollees belong to the instructional level, 72 of the 313 pupils
or 23% of the total enrollees belong to the frustration level and 199 of the 313 pupils or
63.58% of the total enrollees were non-readers.

During the 2nd Quarter, there was an increase of the total enrollments to 318 from
Grades 2 to 6, composing of 154 males and 164 females. All pupils are again tested
individually by their respective advisers. For the second quarter, 15 of the 318 pupils or
4.71% of the total enrollees were recorded as independent readers, 60 of the 318 pupils or
18.87% of the total enrollees belong to the instructional level, 86 of the 318 pupils or 27.01%
of the total enrollees belong to the frustration level and 157 of the 318 pupils or the 49.37%
of the total enrollees were recorded as non-readers.

The results of the 2nd Quarter reveals a significant increase on the oral reading ability of
the pupils, in which, there was a decrease on the number of non-readers and frustration
readers and increase on the number of pupils under instructional and independent levels.
