4. Describe the working of IoT in your own words in points only by seeing the given below diagram.
Answer: Sensors: Collect data (e.g., temperature, motion) and process it into digital format.
Gateway: Aggregates data from sensors, performs protocol conversion, and filters data locally
before sending to the cloud.
Cloud/Server: Receives, stores, and analyzes data in real-time or batch mode, integrating with
other systems for enhanced functionality.
Mobile App/User Interface: Presents data graphically, allows user interaction (monitoring,
control), and sends alerts or notifications based on data analysis.
Workflow:
Sensors collect data → Gateway processes and sends to cloud → Cloud analyzes and stores data
→ Mobile app provides user interface for interaction and control.
5. Below given example is of which architecture?
Monitoring systems in agriculture use communication between soil moisture sensors, weather stations,
and irrigation systems. Sensors collect data autonomously and trigger actions like watering based on
preset conditions, without human intervention.
Answer: M2M i.e Machine to Machine Architecture.
Answer: Advantages
1. Improved customer engagement and communication.
2. Support for technology optimization.
3. Support wide range of data collection.
4. Reduced waste
Disadvantages
1. Loss of privacy and security, information is prone to attack by hackers.
2. Many are concerned about the flexibility of an IoT system to integrate easily with another.
3. The IoT is a diverse & complex network. Any failure or bugs in the software or hardware will have
serious consequences. Even power failure can cause lot of inconvenience.
4. Currently, there is no international standard of compatibility for the tagging & monitoring equipment.
Answer: Cloud computing refers to the delivery of computing services—including servers, storage,
databases, networking, software, and more—over the internet ("the cloud"). Instead of owning physical
hardware or running software on a personal computer or local servers, users access these resources via
remote servers maintained by a cloud service provider. This model offers scalability, flexibility, cost-
efficiency, and accessibility from anywhere with an internet connection, making it a popular choice for
businesses and individuals alike.
