Academic Project Experience

Project Name : Acquistion of Fruit Images and Surface Inspection

Using SPECIM Spectral Camera
Duration : November 2005 to May 2006
Client : Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute(CEERI),
Chennai.

Scope

The research work involves arranging an experiment setup to illuminate the objects like citrus and apple fruits
and image capture using spectral camera with associated software. The surface analysis on the captured
images in the spectral and spatial domains is to be carrired out with CubiCo Software.
Conventional commercial spectrometers or spectrophotometers are usually able to measure optical spectrum
from a specified surface area as one point. This is done either with one detector scanning the spectrum in
narrow wavelength bands or with an array detector.

An imaging spectrometer instrument (or spectral imaging system), based on an imaging spectrograph like the
ImSpector can be defined as : “ An instrument capble of simultaneously measuring the optical spectrum
components and the spatial location of an object surface.
In this project we have used two software’s to control the spectral camera, by varying camera parameters via,
Camera Viewer and CubiCo. Camera Viewer which has several built in features can be used to calibrate a
camera. CubiCo is designed to handle the combination of spectral and spatial data provided by ImSpector
imaging spectrograph system.

Responsibilities

 Accquired the images by camera viewer and cubico software

 makes ensure the clear picture of the image

Project Name : Low Power Communication Using 8085A

Microprocessor (MORSE PROCESSOR)
Duration : January 2004 to March 2004
Team Size : Four

Scope

This is an electronic device configured around the basic 8085 microprocessor which converts text into the
corresponding Morse code (Sound Signals) and vice versa. Morse signals available in the form of sound
HAM radio or any other source. The highlight of this circuit is that it can interpret Morse signals. The circuit is
configured around basic 8085 microprocessor.

Morse signal in the form of sound are converted to microprocessor compatible signals. The arrangement
comprise condenser microphone, preamplifier and retriggerable monostable multivibrator IC 74LS127. The
O/P of IC74LS127 drives the SID pin of 8085 and it is in high logic state when a sound is detected by the
microphone. The sensitivity of the amplifier can be adjusted by preset VR2.The converted Morse code drives
a piezo buzzer via line of 8085 microprocessor. Intensity of the sound can be controlled by potentiometer
VR1.

Responsibilities

 Done the Program for IC 27C32 (4K EPROM - only 1 KB is needed for the program)
