Andhra Pradesh is a state in the south-eastern part of India, known for


its rich culture, history, and diverse geography. It has a long coastline
along the Bay of Bengal and is famous for its temples, rivers, and
vibrant festivals. The capital of Andhra Pradesh is Amaravati.

Regional Language:-
Telugu is the primary language of Andhra Pradesh

Traditional Dance:-
Kuchipudi, a classical dance form, originated here

Festivals:-
Sankranti: A harvest festival celebrated with kites, rangoli, and
traditional sweets.

Ugadi: The Telugu New Year, marking a fresh start with special
______ dishes like Ugadi pachadi.

Traditional Clothing:-
Women typically wear sarees, while men wear dhoti and kurta. For
festive occasions, people dress in colorful traditional attire.

Handloom fabrics like Mangalagiri cotton and Venkatagiri sarees


are popular.

Famous temples like Tirupati Balaji, Srisailam Temple, and
Kanaka Durga Temple showcase stunning architecture.

 Andhra food is spicy and flavorful, with dishes like Pulihora
(tamarind rice), Gongura pachadi (sorrel chutney), and Kodi
vepudu (spicy chicken fry).
 Snacks like mirchi bajji and sweets like pootharekulu are
loved by all.
Ancient History

1. Satavahana Empire (2nd Century BCE – 3rd Century CE):


o The first great dynasty to rule Andhra Pradesh.
o Known for trade, coinage, and spreading Buddhism.
2. Ikshvaku Dynasty (3rd–4th Century CE):
o Promoted Buddhism and built stupas like the Amaravati Stupa.
3. Eastern Chalukyas (7th–12th Century):

o Built temples like Draksharamam and contributed to architecture.

Medieval Period

4. Kakatiya Dynasty (12th–14th Century):


o Capital: Warangal.
o Known for forts like Warangal Fort and the Ramappa Temple.
o Encouraged trade, agriculture, and irrigation systems.
5. Vijayanagara Empire (14th–17th Century):
o Andhra Pradesh was a major part of this powerful empire.
