25. Mega Ltd. was manufacturing water-heaters. Iin the first year of its operations, the
revenueearned by the company was just suffcient to meet its costs. To increase the revenue,
thecompany analysed the reasons of less revenues. After analysis the company decided:

(i) To reduce the labour cost by shifting the manufacturing unit to a backward area where
labour was available at a very low rate.
(ii) to start manufacturing solar water-heaters and reduce the production of electric water.

26.(i) Ashita and Lakshita are employees working in Dazzing enterprises dealing in costume
jewellery. The firm secured an urgent order for 1,000 bracelets that were to be delivered within
4 days. They were assigned the responsibility of producing 500 bracelets each at a cost of ₹100
per bracelet. Ashita was able to produce the required number within the stipulated time at the
cost of ₹55,000 whereas, Lakshita was able to produce only 450 units at cost of ₹90 per unit.
State whether Ashita and Lakshita are efficient and effective
Give reasons to justify your answer.

(ii) Ashutosh works as Finance dept. head in electronics company. Aithough over the years.
Withexperience he has been able to build upon his managerial skils in terms of creativity but
stillhe feels the knowledge of certain theories and principles of management is must for every
manager. This is because these principles are developed through observations and tested
through experimentations and helps the mana gers is taking scientific decisions. Thus a
manager require both the knowledge and creative skill to apply that knowledge in this
personalised way to be successful in his work
In the context of above case.

department followed by Vice-Principal and if the issue is extremely serious it may be taken to

(ii) Alpha Ltd. was engaged in business of garment manufacturing and seling its products under
a popular brand. The demand for their product was increasing, in order to keep the market
share in short run, the company directed its existing workforce to work overtime but this
resulited in many problems. Due to increase pressure of work the efficiency of workers decined.
Sometimes workers worked under more than one superior. The departments which were
producing one product were asked to produce more than one type of products. This resulited in
lot of overlapping and wastage. The workers were becoming indisciplined. The spirit of team
was also reducing. Workers were feeling cheated and their morale was declining The quality of
garments started declining and market share decreased. Based on this case answer the
following question:
