5E’s Lesson Plan in Teaching Science 4

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
a. Identify the planets in the Solar System
b. Draw a solar system and label it.
c. Recognize the value of having a knowledge why solar system exist.

“Before you take your seat, please pick a
pieces of papers under your chair and
kindly arrange it properly.”

d. Checking of Attendance
The class secretary will be the one to
check the attendance.
e. Classroom Agreement
But before we’re going to start our lesson
for today, let us have our classroom
agreement first.

What will you do if the teacher is talking in


front? “Listen attentively”

What will you do if you want to answer? “Raise your right hand if you want to
answer”
What will you do if the teacher give you
an activity? “Participate and Cooperate”

B. Engage
“To start our lesson for this afternoon, we
will have a game. Do you want to play a
game?

“Alright! The game is called “Word


Puzzle”, All you have to do is to find a
word that you will found in the puzzle.

But before that, I will first select eight


students from the class to participate in
the game. I will use the duck raise to
select the students. Each ducks have
your names, and you will move forward to
play the game if your duck win the raise.

“Are we all clear? Yes, Teacher.

Lets start the game” ( The pupils start playing the game)

When you hear the word planet what Solar system is where we can see the

Very good. Solar system is the collection


of eight planets and their moons in orbit
around the sun, together with smaller
bodies in the form of asteroids,
meteoroids, and comets. The planets of
the solar system are (in order of distance
from the sun from) Mercury, Venus, Earth,
Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and
Neptune.

Mercury - is the smallest and closest


planet to the sun in the Solar System.
Venus - is the second planet from the
Sun. It is named after the Roman
goddess of love and beauty. As the
second-brightest natural object in Earth's
night sky after the Moon.

Earth - is the third planet from the Sun


and the only astronomical object known
to harbor life. About 29% of Earth's
surface is land consisting of continents
and islands.

Mars - is the fourth planet from the Sun


and the second-smallest planet in the
Solar System, being larger than only
Mercury.

Jupiter - is the fifth planet from the Sun


and the largest in the Solar System.
Saturn - is the sixth planet from the Sun
and the second-largest in the Solar
System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant with
an average radius of about nine times
that of Earth

Uranus - is the seventh planet from the


Sun. Its name is a reference to the Greek
god of the sky, Uranus, who, according to

third-largest planetary radius and fourth-
largest planetary mass in the Solar
System.

Neptune - is the eighth and farthest-


known Solar planet from the Sun. In the
Solar System, it is the fourth-largest
planet by diameter, the third-most-
massive planet, and the densest giant
planet.
