i) This question paper contains - five sections A, B, C, D and E. Each section is


compulsory. However, there are internal choices in some of the questions.

each. In Section B Question Numbers 21 to 25 are Very Short Answers (VSA) type
questions of 2 marks each. In Section C – Question Numbers 26 to 31 are Short
Answer (SA) type questions, carrying 3 marks each. In Section D – Question
Numbers 32 to 35 are Long Answer (LA) type questions carrying 5 marks each. In
Section E – Question Numbers 36 to 38 are source based/passage based/case-based
questions of 4 marks each with sub-parts.

23. The area of a rhombus is 240 cm2 and one the diagonals is 16 cm. Find the other diagonal.

24. A machine in a soft drink factory fills 960 bottles in six hours. How many bottles will it fill
in five hours?

OR

If a box of sweets is divided among 24 children, they will get 5 sweets each. How many
would each get, if the number of the children is reduced by 4?

29. A school has 8 periods a day each of 45 minutes duration. How long would each period be, if
the school has 9 periods a day, assuming the number of school hours to be the same?

31. A cuboid is of dimension 60 cm × 54 cm × 30 cm. How many small cubes with side 6 cm can
be placed in the given cuboid?

OR
Water is pouring into a cuboidal reservoir at the rate of 60 litres per minute. If the volume of
reservoir is 108 𝑚3 , find the number of hours it will take to fill the reservoir.

SECTION - D
32. (i) Find the least number that must be added to 1300 so as to get a perfect square. Also find 3
the square root of the perfect square.

(ii) Find a Pythagorean triplet in which one member is 12.

33. The internal measures of a cuboidal room are 12 m × 8 m × 4 m. Find the total cost of
whitewashing all four walls of a room, if the cost of white washing is ₹ 5 per 𝑚2 . What will
be the cost of white washing if the ceiling of the room will also be whitewashed?

It costs ₹ 2200 to paint the inner curved surface of a cylindrical vessel 10 m deep. If the cost of
painting is at the rate of ₹ 20 per m2, find (i) inner curved surface area of the vessel, (ii) radius

34. 1200 soldiers in a fort had enough food for 28 days. After 4 days, some soldiers were sent to
another fort and thus the food lasted for 32 more days. How many soldiers left the fort?

36. Shyam has donated some amount to CM relief fund. The amount of donation is represented by
5𝑦 (2𝑦 − 6) – 2 (𝑦 − 3) − 60. His friend Hari gets motivated by him and he also donated an
amount represented by 𝑦 (𝑦 − 3) + 2. Based on this statement answer the following:

(i) What is the coefficient of 𝑦 in the amount donated by Shyam?

(ii) The total amount donated by both of them (write in terms of algebraic expression). 2

(iii) The amount donated by Shyam is what kind of polynomial (in terms of number of terms 1

38. Math Club supports classroom learning, enrich their skills with higher order thinking, and
prepare students for future Math Competitions. Students might play games that use math or
use math to create works of art or makeup puzzles and riddles that use math as part of the
solution. Two students Vinay and Hemant measure the perimeter and width of a rectangular
field as 15 cm and 4.5 cm with the help of measuring tape.

Based on above information
