Objectives: [3 pts]
Outline the detailed, specific objectives of the experiment.
Reagents: [3 pts]
List the reagents, including their corresponding structure, molecular weight, physical and chemical properties
(i.e., appearance, melting point, boiling point, density, solubility), hazards and safety precautions, that in the
experiment. Consult the material safety data sheet (MSDS) available online.
Procedures: [7 pts]
Sketch a flowchart or outline a list of the procedure to be followed in the experiment. It should provide enough
details in the experiment, i.e., amount of reagent needed, specified settings and duration for equipment use, etc.
This is to provide you an overview of what you will be doing in the laboratory to allow you to organize your time
efficiently. Draw the setup and label it accordingly, if any. Students will not be allowed to use the handout in
class.
Observations:
List down observations made during the experiment. This section does not need to appear written before the start
of the experiment.

(~50 words)
Methods [5 pts]
Briefly describe the procedures and techniques in the experiment. (~50 words)
Results [8 pts]
Neatly present derived data tables/graphs/charts in this section. Label figures as “Figure. 1. <Title>.” and place
them below each figure. Label tables as “Table 1. <Title>.” Place them above each table. Be able to cite these
tables and figures within the discussion section.
