Removal of the External DC Electrical Power
Refer to Figure 302.
1. General
A. The maintenance procedure that follows is for the removal of the external DC electrical power
from the DC bus of the aircraft.
B. The external DC receptacle for the removal of external DC ground power is on the forward left
side of the aircraft nose section.

2. Job Set−Up Information

3. Job Set−Up
Subtask 12−00−06−869−001

A. Make sure that the aircraft is grounded (Refer to TASK 10−11−00−869−801 ).

B. Obey all the electrical and electronic safety precautions (Refer to TASK 24−00−00−910−801 ).

4. Procedure
Subtask 12−00−06−861−002

WARNING: OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE ON OR NEAR
ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, YOU CAN CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
A. Remove the external DC electrical power from the aircraft as follows:
(1) Set EXT PWR switch on the DC CONTROL panel (1) to the OFF position.
(2) Set the BATTERY MASTER , MAIN, AUX and STBY switches to the OFF position.

(3) Stop the DC external−power unit.


CAUTION: STOP THE GROUND POWER UNIT (GPU) BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE
GPU CABLE FROM THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE. IF YOU DO NOT
DO THIS, THERE CAN BE ELECTRICAL DAMAGE TO THE EXTERNAL
POWER RECEPTACLE AND THE CABLE ASSEMBLY.
(4) Disconnect the cable of the DC external−power unit from the 28 V DC external ground
power receptacle (3) on the aircraft.

5. Close Out
Subtask 12−00−06−865−006

A. If the AC Contactor Box are in the removed condition, do the procedure that follows:
(1) Remove the tags and close the circuit breakers that follow:
