A. GENERAL POLICY- IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Admissions to public KIMS/KIDS shall be conducted and completed by the Khyber Medical
University, Peshawar.
2. The KIMS/KIDS offer 5-years MBBS and 4-years BDS courses leading to MBBS and BDS
degrees respectively.
3. The government shall formulate the merit and admission criteria for KIMS/KIDS as under,
MDCAT 50% Weightage
FSc (Pre-Medical /HSSC /Equivalent) 40% Weightage
SSC/ Matriculation /Equivalent 10% Weightage

Provided that all those candidates shall be considered eligible on merit if the student has
acquired ≥60% marks in HSSC/equivalent, 55% marks for MBBS or 50% marks for BDS in
MDCAT. Furthermore, it shall be the responsibility of the candidates to settle their cases
with Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad (IBCC) and should get clearance
certificate from IBCC, Islamabad for recognition of their qualifications as equivalent to HSSC
(Pre-Medical).
4. Whenever two or more candidates are bracketed equal in the final merit list, the older in
age candidate will be preferred over younger one. In case the tie continues, the one having
higher marks in Matric shall be considered for admission. If the tie still continues, then the
candidate with higher marks in entrance test will be given preference.
5. There is no lower or upper age limit for admission in KIMS/KIDS public sector
Medical/Dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
6. The Government/KMU may create any category of seats in KIMS/KIDS for purposes of
admission in accordance with applicable law. No category shall be created which permits a
student who has not qualified the MDCAT or be admitted in violation of the fundamental
principle of merit as mandatorily applicable under Article 37(c) of the Constitution of the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
7. The final criteria for merit and admission including all category of seat shall be publicly
announced by KMU. A copy of the criteria and categories shall be provided to the PM&DC
by 1st August of each year.

8. If any public scholarship or funded program requires seats to be allocated for its program in
KIMS/KIDS, the public authority responsible for such program shall seek and obtain the
allocation of the required seats from KMU in respect of KIMS/KIDS by or before 1st August of
each year.
9. The admission process shall be conducted through an online portal and in a transparent
manner with the final merit lists and admission lists being advertised publically.
10. Admissions to medical and dental programs shall be conducted separately and each
student shall be required to apply separately to a medical or dental program. A student
having not applied to a given program shall not be entitled to admission to such program.
11. Admissions to open merit seats in KIMS shall be completed by 31st December, of each year
and admissions of KIDS shall be completed before 15th February, of each year. Admissions
to all special category seats in KIMS not being on open merit shall be completed by 10th

January of each year. Admissions to all special category seats in KIDS not being on open
merit shall be completed by 28th February of each year.
12. The admissions in public-sector medical and dental institutions shall be completed by
displaying at least three consecutive merit lists by the concerned Admitting University
(Khyber Medical University). Institution-wise list of all the successful candidates shall be
displayed on the website of the concerned Admitting University. In case of failure to
deposit the prescribed admission fee within three working days of display of merit list on
the website or notice board of the Admitting University and such candidates shall have no
vested right of admission in that year on that particular seat in that particular institute.
13. The vacant seats occurring on account of non-deposit of prescribed admission fee within
the stipulated period by selected candidates in first or second merit list shall be allocated
to candidates who are next in merit, by displaying the third merit list. The candidates may
be upgraded to another institution in the subsequent merit list based on merit and
preference and the fee deposited by upgraded candidates in the previous institution shall
be transferred to new institution without any deduction.
14. The Final list of admitted students shall be made public by or before 28th February, 2024.
Thereafter, upon final verification by the relevant universities with whom the college is
affiliated the verified list shall be submitted by the university to the Authority in the
prescribed manner through PM&DC Online portal within sixty days of completion of the
admissions. No public college shall admit any student beyond the total seats allocated by
the PM&DC.
Provided that any students admitted on a special category seat pre-defined exclusively for a
Federal Government Program for foreign students under bilateral agreements with other
countries who have not taken the MDCAT exam may be admitted over and above the
allocated seats subject to such over and above admissions not being more than five
percent of the total allocated seats of the college. Such students shall qualify SAT-II with
minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination
with 50% marks in the subject as prescribed in PM&DC regulations 2023, 3(c).

15. Any allocated seat of a college which may remain vacant after the completion of
admissions and there is no eligible candidate available all such vacant seats shall be
converted to open merit seats, expect foreign self-finance seats which will be converted to
general self-finance seats.
16. A candidate desirous of admission in MBBS and BDS course in a public sector medical and
dental institution of a province or a region shall apply to the concerned Admitting
University (KMU for KP). The Admitting University shall process the applications strictly on
merit by preparing merit list for the concerned public medical and dental institutions.
17. Admission schedule for public medical and dental institutions shall be advertised by KMU in
the leading national newspapers of wide circulation as well as through its official website
and Facebook page. Advertisement shall clearly mention the last date of submission of
applications, dates of display of merit lists and date of deposit of fee for open merit and
self-finance and other quota/reserved seats.
18. The candidates shall apply for admission online by visiting http://cas.kmu.edu.pk or
www.kmu.edu.pk. The entire process of submission of application is online only; hence
there is no need to submit hard copy of application to the university (KMU). The admission
forms received by Post, urgent mail, courier service or any other means shall not be

entertained.
19. Students applying for admissions shall give an order of preferences for all the medical /
dental colleges in the designated space provided in the Admission Form. A candidate will
be considered for a college listed in his/her preferences. If a college is not mentioned in
his/her preferences, admission shall not be offered in that particular college.
20. The concerned Admitting University (KMU) shall ensure display of merit lists prepared in
accordance with PM&DC Medical & Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions,
Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2023 on its own official website. In case
final merit of more than one candidate is equal up to five decimals, the candidate older in
age shall stand higher in merit.
21. No admission form will be accepted after the due date for submission of forms.
22. Admission to the Medical and Dental Colleges for all Provincial seats for public sector
medical and dental colleges shall be finalized by the KMU Admission Committee (KMU-AC)
strictly on the basis of merit-cum-choice and in accordance with PM&DC regulations 2023.
Any admission made in violation of merit or on the basis of donations or kick back or
unauthorized and unlawful payments in any form shall constitute grave violation of PM&DC
regulations 2023 entailing penal action/ criminal proceedings and withdrawal of
recognition under the Ordinance/ Law.
23. MDCAT result of one province shall be valid for the entire country and shall be valid for a
period of three years.
24. No candidate will be admitted unless he/she has paid the fee and other dues. All dues must
be paid by the due date (within three working days of interview or as otherwise mentioned
in the office order for admission), failing which admission of defaulting students will be
cancelled and next candidate on merit will be offered admission.
25. The Institutional Admission Committees (IAC) of medical/dental colleges shall display and
send a list of seats vacated/unfilled due to any reason, within five (05) working days after
the completion of the placement interviews.
26. Filling of the vacant seats shall be on the basis of merit-cum-choice through up-gradation of
admitted students and by candidates from the waiting list on merit-cum-choice basis,
which will be the responsibility of KMU Admission Committee (KMU-AC). Down-gradation
to an institute which was already refused shall not be allowed.
27. The vacant seats occurring on account of non-deposition of prescribed admission fee
within stipulated period by selected candidates in 1 st or 2nd merit list shall be allocated to
candidates who are next in the merit by displaying the 3rd merit list.
28. Fresh candidates who have not deposited fee and opted to be on waiting list for high merit
intuitions shall be offered admission on merit cum choice basis. However, the candidates
shall not be offered admission in the intuitions which was already refused.
29. There must be a centralized account of admitting university, where the students have to
deposit their admission and tuition fee etc. within the due date notified by the university.
30. The fee deposited in KMU account shall be transferred to the concerned college/institute
within 30 days of the display of 3rd or final merit list.
31. Date for the commencement of classes shall be notified by the admitting university (KMU).
32. Litigation on any category of seats in a public sector medical and dental college, with
respect to admission, shall be the sole responsibility of KMU, who shall be liable to pay the
concerned advocate and assist him/her in the preparation of case.

33. KMU-AC shall decide all cases related to admission, any complaints/grievances against the
decisions made by KMU-AC, may be challenged in Appellate KMU-Admission Committee.
Review against the decision of the Appellate KMU-AC can be filed before the chairman PAC
within 03 working days after the final selection. The decision of the PAC shall stand final.
34. All the candidates and students are required to read, know and abide by admission policy
of Khyber Medical University and PM&DC Medical & Dental Undergraduate Education
(Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2023 before submission of
application for admission. Any changes made by PM&DC in future from time to time shall
also be applicable to admission regulations.
35. The PM&DC shall determine and declare the ceiling for admissions permissible in public /
private sector medical and dental institutions. For clarification the seats for each college
shall be allocated as per regulations 2023 by the Council subject to evaluation of each
college.
36. Candidates sent by the nominating agencies (HEC, AJK, Reciprocal, Economic Affairs etc.)
after the closure of admission date will be admitted, subject to prior approval of PM&DC.
Seats for Erstwhile FATA/Baluchistan project, Pakistan Technical Assistance Program and
illegally Indian Occupied Kashmir (IIOK) will be considered as over and above of the total
number of sanctioned seats to medical/dental institute.
37. The reservation of quota for various categories of students for admission to medical
colleges was declared to be without authority in line with the decision of August Supreme
Court of Pakistan (Attiya Inayat Case) except following categories:
(a) Disabled persons
(b) Students domiciled in Merged Districts

38. All admissions will be provisional. All certificates or any other documents submitted with
the application form will be subject to verification by the respective colleges. Any candidate
whose documents are found incorrect or false / forged in any way, or whose authentication
is doubtful rendering him/her ineligible for admission under the rules, will be struck off
from the college roll and legal action may be taken under the criminal and civil law against
him/her.
39. Any certificate issued after the closing date for admission shall not be considered for the
purpose of calculation of merit.

B. ADMISSION COMMITTEES
1. THE PROVINCIAL ADMISSION COMMITTEE (PAC)

A Provincial Admission Committee, comprising of the following members, namely: -


• Vice Chancellor, Khyber Medical University Peshawar Chairman
• Nominee of Secretary Health not below the rank of Special Secretary Member
• Nominee of the President PM&DC Member
• Principal of one Medical College and one Dental College nominated by
the Vice Chancellor Member
• Registrar, Khyber Medical University Peshawar Member
• Convener KMU-Admission Committee, Peshawar Member
• Director Admissions, KMU, Peshawar Member/Secretary

The PAC shall oversee and monitor the entire admission process in accordance with
directions issued by the admission board of PM&DC and ensure transparent conduct of
admission test and admissions in its area of jurisdiction.
Any further changes by PM&DC will be adopted mutatis mutandis.

4. INSTITUTIONAL ADMISSION COMMITTEE (IAC)


Every institute shall notify an Institutional admission committee comprising of
following, namely,

a) Principal /Dean of the institution, who shall also be the Chairperson


of the committee.
b) Vice-Principal/Senior faculty member of the institution.
c) A faculty member nominated by the academic council of the institution.
1) All logistic and secretarial support to the institutional admission committee shall
be provided by governing body of the institute.
2) The intuitional admission committee constituted shall implement the
directions/decisions of the KMU-Admission Committee/ Provincial Admission
Committee. IAC shall report any discrepancy or irregularity if occur immediately
to the provincial admission committee.
3) The IAC shall submit an undertaking for transparent and merit-based completion
of admissions in accordance with PM&DC Medical & Dental Undergraduate
Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2023.

4) IAC shall display and send a list of seats vacated/unfilled due to any reason, within three
(03) working days after the completion of the placement interviews.

C. MEDICAL BOARD TO EXAMINE THE SPECIALLY ABLED CANDIDATES

3. ENT Specialist
4. Eye Specialist
5. Orthopedic Specialist.
6. Psychiatrist
7. The Chairman KMU-AC may co-opt any other specialist relevant to the
disability as member, on need basis.

APPELLATE MEDICAL BOARD FOR SPECIALLY ABLED CANDIDATES


The Appellate Board will comprise of the serving / retired Professors of all the concerned
specialties and will be constituted by the Chairman KMU Admission Committee. The
decision of the Appellate Medical Board shall be final, after approval of Chairman KMU
Admission Committee.

D. KMU SCRUTINY COMMITTEE

The Chairman KMU-AC will constitute a scrutiny committee, comprising of


representatives from the public sector medical/ dental colleges and from KMU Staff
which will scrutinize the documents of all candidates who have applied through an
online portal of KMU for admissions into MBBS/BDS programs for the session 2024-25.

E. BASIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO MBBS AND BDS
Any person seeking admission in any undergraduate medical or dental
college in Pakistan shall be eligible having fulfilled the following mandatory criteria;

• Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) or an


equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and obtained a
minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may
be notified by the Medical and Dental Council; and
• Passed the subjects of biology and chemistry and either physics or mathematics
in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent
12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan:
Provided that the mandatory eligibility requirements shall not apply to a
student admitted on a special program seat pre-defined exclusively for a
Federal Government program for foreign students under bilateral agreements
with other countries. Such students shall also not be entitled to apply for a Full
License to practice in Pakistan after having obtained their degree and will have
to apply as foreign graduate’s subject to applicable licensing pathways.
• The equivalence certificate must be attached with the application form before
the closing date. Confirmation of candidate's admission will be subject to
production of attested photocopy of equivalence certificate issued by the IBCC
Islamabad. The candidate has obtained marks equivalent to unadjusted 60% of
FSc total marks according to the formula laid down by the IBCC, Islamabad.
• The equivalence certificates of such candidates will not be accepted if he/she
has not studied and passed the subjects of Physics/Maths, Chemistry and
Biology in his/her 9th, 10th, 11thand 12th Grade / O & A levels or other equivalent
examination recognized by the IBCC. He/she must have passed English as a
subject at O or A level.
• Have passed the MDCAT examination conducted by the PM&DC (at least 55%
for admission into MBBS and 50% for admission into BDS).
Note: Only elective science subject’s marks shall be used for calculation of merit of
those candidates who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate
qualification (HSSC) in 2021 as per Peshawar High Court, Peshawar judgement
through w.p # 6015/P/2023 dated 25.01.2024. However, if the candidate has
subsequently attempted/improved marks, his/her revised result (total marks)
shall be considered for calculation of merit.

F. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING AGAINST DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF SEATS


a. Selection under each category of seats shall be done on the basis of inter se merit
amongst the eligible applicants.
b. Description and eligibility for applying under various categories of seats is given
under respective headings below. The applicants must study the admission
policy carefully and then apply accordingly.
c. The candidate should give email address and at least three different telephone
numbers (including landline and mobile) which must be active and contactable.

G. OPEN MERIT SEATS

These Seats are open to applicants possessing valid domicile certificate of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The applicant's
father shall also possess valid domicile certificate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the
backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and if father is not alive then the mother's valid
domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
will be considered.

H. SELF FINANCE SEATS


a. GENERAL SELF FINANCE SEATS
The General Self Finance Seats are open for applicant's who possess valid domicile
certificate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas and Merged Area
Districts (MDs). The applicant's father should also have a valid domicile of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas and Merged Districts (MDs) and if father is
not alive then the mother's valid domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the
backward areas and Merged Districts (MDs) will be considered. General Self Finance
have the following three categories, 1) General Self Finance Seats, 2) GSF for monitories
candidates and 3) GSF for KMU wards.
b. ELIGIBILITY FOR GSF KMU WARDS:

These Seats are open to applicants possessing valid domicile certificate of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas and MDs if otherwise eligible as per section
B of the KMU admission policy. The applicant's father shall also possess valid domicile
certificate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the backward areas and MDs, if father is not
alive then the mother's valid domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the backward
areas and MDs will be considered.
Either parent of the candidates must be a full time employee on the pay roll of Khyber
Medical University or retired from KMU or serving on fixed pay (CP Fund) with a
minimum of 07 years of services rendered to KMU in either case on the closing date of
application submission.
Deceased employees who died while in service of the university, provided they were
confirmed in their appointment at the time of death.
The Sons/Daughters of following employees are ineligible,
• Those who have been dismissed, removed or terminated from service.
• Serving on deputation basis at KMU.
• Candidates that have been granted admission in the previous session against the
reserved seats of KMU wards and are availing the chance again by changing of
discipline will be required to pay annual charges, tuition fee and other expensive of
the remaining period of study before accepting new admission offer.
c. FOREIGN SELF-FINANCE SEATS
i. These seats are for applicants who are not Pakistani students and hold a
permanent foreign/dual nationality and overseas (being a Pakistani citizen
permanently resident in a foreign country) Pakistani as elaborated under
regulations 4(7), having domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ii. Such candidates must have studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or

equivalent and obtained a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks therein, from
abroad, recognized in Pakistan.
iii. The candidates must be a resident of foreign country at the time of applying for
admission and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this
effect.
iv. These candidates shall apply directly to KMU online portal for admissions if
otherwise qualifying the laid down criteria for these quota seats.
v. Where any seat of foreign self-finance quota remains vacant due to unavailability
of eligible candidates or otherwise, it shall be transferred to General Self Finance
(GSF) and the student shall be charged fee and charges prescribed against GSF
seats.
vi. The annual quota of foreign seats and self-finance shall not be carried forward to
admissions of any subsequent year. Cumulative seats for Foreign plus General
Self-finance seats admissions in a public medical and dental institution shall not
exceed fifteen percent of total allocated seats.
Provided that a student admitted on foreign seat shall pay the fee as a foreign
students regardless of any change in status of such student during the program of study.

I. QUOTA SEATS FOR PERSON WITH SPECIAL ABLITY:


The specially abled candidates selected by the “Medical Board for person with special
ability” constituted by KMU with a valid domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa / Merged
Districts (MD) of the candidate and his/her father and fulfilling all the other criteria for
admission to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical/ Dental colleges can apply on these seats. In
case father of the candidate is not alive then the mother's valid domicile certificate of
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa / Merged Districts (MD) along with death certificate of father will
be considered.
To be considered on open merit as well as the specially abled candidate’s seats, the
candidates must apply against both the categories. However, it will be the choice of the
candidate to avail open merit or disabled seat.
The specially abled candidates are required to provide CNIC/Form B issued for disabled
persons, a registration certificate from the Social Welfare Department Government of
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that:
• He/She is a specially abled candidate, but
• He/She is mentally fit and physically able to carry out his/her studies and can
perform professional duties after qualifying MBBS/BDS.
A Medical Board constituted by Chairman KMU-AC will make final decision about the
suitability of the candidate for admission against the reserved seats. Candidates shall
have the right to appeal against the decisions made by the Medical Board of KMU to
the “Chairman PAC”. However, the decision made by Chairman PAC shall be final.

J. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PERSON WITH SPECIAL ABILITY:

a. Special ability for the purpose of admission to Medical & Dental Colleges in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa is defined as that degree of physical impairment which puts the
candidate at disadvantage as compared to a normal person for acquiring education
before entering Medical/Dental College, but otherwise is capable of performing

his/her duties satisfactorily as a Medical/Dental student and later on as
Medical/Dental Practitioner. The terms “severely disabled and comparison of
disabilities” are not applicable because: -
i. A severely disable person is ineligible.
ii. Disease/ disabilities affecting different organ systems are in no way comparable.

b. The Special ability shall be of permanent nature.


c. The candidate shall be declared specially able by the Medical Board.
d. Selection against these seats shall be finalized by the KMU-AC on the
recommendation of Medical Board on merit from amongst the certified Special
able candidates.
K. MINORITIES SEATS

Only Non-Muslim candidates, who are domicile holders of KP / MDs, can apply for
minority seats, Open Merit seats, and GSF seats reserved for minorities candidates.
However, it will be the choice of the candidate to avail any category of seat as per
merit.
Admission against this seat will be made by the KMU-AC from amongst the merit list of
the qualified minority candidates.
The candidate and his/her father must be domiciled of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa / MDs. In
case father of the candidate is not alive then the mother's valid domicile of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa/ MDs along with death certificate of father will be considered.

L. Entry Test and determination of merit:


There is an Entry Test (MDCAT) as per the requirement of PM&DC for admission to
MBBS/ BDS in Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The date, time and venue for Entry Test will be notified in the national daily
newspapers. Any change in schedule of Entry Test will be notified in press and on
the websites/Facebook of PM&DC/ KMU.
Weightage for preparation of final merit list will be as under:-
EXAMINATION / TEST WEIGHTAGE
i- SC/Matriculation/Equivalent 10%
ii- Adjusted marks in FSc or equivalent examination 40%
iii- Entry Test (MDCAT) 50%
EXAMPLE:
A candidate has obtained marks:
i. SSC or Equivalent qualification 880/1100 or 80.00000%
ii. Adjusted F. Sc. marks or equivalent level marks 880/1100 or 80.00000%
iii. PM&DC MDCAT Test passing Marks 120/200 for MBBS and 110/200 for BDS.
His/ Her merit will be calculated as follows:
%age mark Weightage = Weightage Factor Marks
a. Weightage for SSC = 80.0 x 0.1 = 8.00000
b. Weight age for FSc = 80.0 x 0.4 = 32.00000
c. Weight age for Entrance Test = 60.0 x 0.5 = 30.00000
Merit score of the candidate = a+b+c = 8.0+32.0+30.0 = 70.0% Final

calculation in percentage will be rounded up to five decimal points.

ADMISSION OF THE CANDIDATE WILL BE CANCELLED IF:

1. It is found at any stage of MBBS/ BDS course that the candidate was not entitled for
admission according to the Public Sector Medical/ Dental Colleges Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa admission policy.
2. The candidate is found medically unfit at any stage of MBBS/BDS course.
3. The candidate fails to report for admission and fails to deposit the fee on due date.
4. Any document, information provided by candidate is found false/fake or fabricated
at any stage of MBBS/BDS course which would have rendered him/her ineligible for
admission under the rules.
5. It is found that candidate was not entitled for admission in preference to the other
candidates who applied for admission at any stage of MBBS/BDS course.
6. KIMS/KIDS shall be responsible for verifying the credentials of a students admitted
including matriculation, HSSC or Equivalent 12th grade qualification. The KIMS/KIDS will
have to submit a certificate in this regard to the KMU within 30 days after completion of
admissions for onward submission to PM&DC.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION FORM

Applicants must attach with application form scanned copies of all educational
certificates / documents.
Selected candidates shall have to submit all original certificates at the time of
interviews/admission. The original documents of the selected candidates will be retained by
the College concerned and will be returned on leaving the Institution.

i. Detailed Marks Certificates of all examinations on the basis of which admission is


sought.
ii. An equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC),
Islamabad, if the qualifying certificate is from foreign education system.
iii. Migration Certificate from the respective board (only from admitted candidates
to be submitted at respective college where admission is offered)
iv. a. Disability certificate from Social Welfare Department, Government of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa.
b. Disability medical certificate on prescribed proforma from concerned
certified specialist if applying against seats reserved for the disabled.
c. Computerized Form B/CNIC issued by NADRA showing logo for Disability
v. Valid Domicile certificate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/MDs of the candidate and his/
her father.
vi. Domicile certificate of the father of the applicant; if the father is not alive, then
the death certificate of the father along with the domicile certificate of the
mother has to be submitted.
vii. Computerized National Identity Card of the candidate or Computerized
Registration Form B.
viii. Computerized National Identity Card of the father of the applicant; if the father is
not alive, a copy of the National Identity Card of the mother or guardian.
ix. Service Certificate from the establishment section of KMU, in case of KMU wards
mentioning his/her length of services and nature of job (Regular/Fix pay/retired).
x. Parent's valid OPF Membership Card and Foreign Exchange Remittance Card

(Valid on the closing date of application form for admission) in case of candidates
applying against Overseas Pakistani's Seats.
xi. Certificate of location of educational institutions from Principals/ Head Masters
of the concerned institutions have to be submitted by the candidates of MDs and
backward areas.
xii. The location & non-existence certificate must be countersigned by the DEO and
DC of the concerned district.
xiii. Certificate from the Institution last attended with duration of stay.
xiv. In case, the candidate has obtained FSc part-I and part-II education from different
institutions he/she has to produce a certificate indicating the institution from
where F. Sc. Part-1 and Part-II have been obtained.

W. WARNINGS

1. If any document / information provided by candidate, is found false/fake or


fabricated at any stage of MBBS / BDS course, the admission will be cancelled,
he/she shall be blacklisted for admission to any professional colleges in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa. Further legal action can be taken against the student under the
existing criminal laws.
2. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
3. The domicile, DMC of HSSC (Pre-Medical)/Equivalent Examination, SSC and other
certificates once submitted in the online Admission portal cannot be changed and
shall be considered as final. Revision of result or improvement of marks declared by
the board/IBCC after the closing date of submission of application form.
4. All the above-mentioned certificates issued after the dates fixed for receipt of
application forms shall not be entertained.
5. Application forms with any false statement by the candidate will be rejected.

X. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. The KMU-AC shall call online applications for admission to MBBS/BDS. The
admission/scrutiny committee shall process all applications.
2. KMU-AC will display a merit list for each category of candidates. Objection, if any,
be submitted in writing to the Chairman KMU-AC who will be competent to
rectify any error or omission before the interviews for placement are held. The
final merit list will be displayed two days before the start of interviews.
3. KMU-AC will interview the candidates on merit-cum-choice for Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Open merit, backward areas, Special Quota Seats, Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Reciprocal seat at NMC (Multan), General Self Finance Seats,
Foreign Self Finance Seats, MDs seats, and seats for Overseas Pakistani.
4. All admission under all categories will be closed as per PM&DC/KMU Schedule.
5. KMU-AC will finalize the merit list of MDs candidates on the basis of criteria laid
down jointly by the KMU-AC and Home& Tribal Affairs Department/MDs.
Selection will be subject to rules framed by MDs Secretariat.
6. Representatives of Home & Tribal Affairs Department/ Merged Districts (MD) will
participate in the deliberation of the Joint Admission Committee for MDs Seats
when the merit list against Merged Districts (MDs) Seats is finalized.

7. The final selection of candidate against the reserved seat for MDs in different
Colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces will be notified by the
Home & Tribal Affairs Department/ MDs.
8. Appeal against the decision of KMU for admission on MDs reserved seats can be
made to the appellate committee.
9. Right of appeal against the decision of KMU-AC or any of sub committees in case
of process of admission on MDs reserve seats shall vest in the MDs Secretariat.
10. No candidate will be admitted unless he/she has paid the fee and dues. All dues
must be paid by the due date, otherwise next candidate on merit will be
considered for admission.
11. All admissions will be provisional. All certificates or any other documents
submitted with the application form will be subject to verification. Any candidate
whose documents are found incorrect or false / forged in any way, or whose
authentication is doubtful rendering him/her ineligible for admission under the
rules, will be struck off from the college roll and legal action may be taken under
the criminal and civil law against him/her.
12. The Principal can expel a student from the college roll at any time during the
course of his/her study if incorrect or wrong data had been submitted by such a
candidate/ parent/ guardian at the time of admission rendering him/her
ineligible for admission under the rules.
13. No show cause notice will be necessary for any action under this rule, nor would
the Government, the Principal or any other authority be liable for damages for
any action taken under this rule.
14. Any cost of litigation accrued by the KMU-AC /college(s) on account of law where
the fault of the candidate is proved shall have to be paid by the candidate or
his/her parent/guardian.
15. Admission fee and other dues will not be refunded to those students whose
admission has been cancelled due to his/her forged documents or
rusticated/expelled/removed from the college roll for any reason or he /she
willfully discontinues studies.
16. A student who is admitted to the first year MBBS/BDS class of the Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Medical & Dental Colleges but is continuously absent from the
beginning of the academic session for a period of four weeks without any valid
reason shall be struck off from the college roll and his/her seat will be filled on
the basis of merit from the waiting list.
17. The Medical Board of the respective medical colleges will examine selected
candidates. If a candidate is disqualified medically, he/she will not be admitted.
18. A candidate once admitted in public sector Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical/ Dental
College may be allowed to leave for another Medical/ Dental College in other
province/ country provided he/she applies for this purpose before the closing
date of admission:
I. Those admitted in previous year(s) will not be allowed to do so.
II. Fee once paid shall not be refunded and any scholarship amount paid shall
be recovered in such cases.
III. The undertaking given by the candidate on account of financial penalty

shall also be enforced.
19. If a student already admitted in MBBS or BDS resigned/withdrawn their
admission shall pay the prescribed penalty to the respective college before
leaving the college.
20. The parent(s) or legal guardians must accompany all the candidates at the time
of placement interview.
Y. MIGRATION POLICY FOR MBBS/BDS STUDENTS OF KIMS/KIDS
KIMS and KIDS are being constituent institutes of KMU, where all the expenditure
and the budget are borne by KMU, hence migration from these institutes will incur
huge financial loss to KMU. Therefore, migration from these two institutes to other
public sector institutes is NOT allowed.
Z. ANNUAL FEE SCHEDULE
The fees and subscription of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical & Dental Colleges for
current session are payable by all the students of Medical and Dental Colleges from
1styear to Final year class.
Revised fees structure will be applicable to all the candidates from time to time.
