(Checking the attendance and after checking

the attendance)
" It seems like there's no absent today."

" Class how are you today?" "We're doing great

teacher!"
"Are you behaving well with your parents?" "Yes, we were teacher."

" So we will be having an activity about our

lesson for today. Dont worry because our
activity will be very easy. Are you kids ready for
the activity?" " Yes teacher!"

"May I ask everyone to get a whole sheet of

be honest okay?

( Checking at the moment... Most of them got

perfect and some got 2/3)
"So our lesson for today is about Reading and
writing numbers up to 100 in symbols and in
words."

"Reading Single and Two-Digit Numbers."

Abstraction:
( 15mins.) " A single-digit number is in the ones place. The
name of a single-digit number is simply the
name of the digit. Let's try reading the names
of single-digit numbers:"
0 is read zero 6 is read six
1 is read one 7 is read seven
2 is read two 8 is read eight
3 is read three 9 is read nine
4 is read four
5 is read five

(The teacher repeats and the students (The students followed

followed.) the teacher in counting
the single-digit numbers.)
" The next is we have the Two-Digit Numbers."
" Two-digit numbers extend into the tens place,
which is the second digit from the right.
Reading a two-digit number requires knowing a
variety of number names."
" The two-digit numbers beginning in 1 each
have a unique name, so you simply need to
memorize each. To read two-digit numbers
beginning with 2 through 9, use the name of
the value of the tens place plus the name of the
digit in the ones place. Let's read some two-
digit numbers beginning in 1 and some
beginning in 2 through 9:"

10 is read ten 20 is read twenty

11 is read eleven 30 is read thirty
12 is read twelve 40 is read forty
13 is read thirteen 50 is read fifty (The discussion
14 is read fourteen 60 is read sixty continues...)
15 is read fifteen 70 is read seventy
16 is read sixteen 80 is read eighty
17 is read seventeen 90 is read ninety
18 is read eighteen
19 is read nineteen

“Do you kids still follow?” “Yes, teacher.”

“Okay let me call on Angelica to read this Angelica answered, “it’s

number:” 81 81 (eighty-one) teacher.”
“Splendid answer Angelica. Now let’s proceed
to Writing Numbers.”

" In Writing Numbers"

" So to write a number, you need to determine
the place value of the first digit, and then write
the rest of the numbers accordingly. For a two-
digit number, the first digit occupies the Tens
place and the second digit occupies the Ones (The discussion continues
place.” For example: and the kids are listening

42 intently...)

First digit and in Second digit and

the TENS place in the ONES place

"For a quicker way, when you read numbers,

use place value, or the value of a digit based on
its position in the number, to read the number
from left to right. When you write numbers,
first determine the place value of the first digit,
and then write the number."

" Do you guys understand how to write and " Yes teacher, but when
read numbers now?" we're having a hard time
can we ask for your help
teacher?"
"Yes of course kids! You can always come to me
when you need help with something."

“Thank you teacher.”

(Group Activity)
“Arranging Numbers”

" How many are you in the class today?"

Application: (The kids are counting)
( 15mins.)
" 30, teacher."
"Okay, so I have here a box and inside the box
are numbers from 1 to 30 (a circle colored paper
pasted on the flashcards with numbers in it),
what you're going to do is after you pulled out
a flashcard from the box you have to find the
correct answer on the board and paste the
flashcards beside it. After answering the
activity, the group members will come in front
and arrange the numbers in their correct
sequence, one group at a time. Remember each
group will be given different boxes and
different worksheets/pictures. Now, count
yourselves from 1 to 5 with 5 members each
group. Each member of the group has to
participate and answer the questions on the
board. Do I make myself clear? “Yes, teacher!”

“Cooperate and help one another okay?" " Okay teacher."

" Now go to your groups and get ready with the

activity. " (The students are now in
their respective groups)

"Are you ready now?" "Yes! We are ready

teacher!"
"Very good!
