Introduction

The Badrul Khan Web-Based Framework is a crucial part of online education and

instructional design, offering an organizational structure that centres learners on web platforms.

It fuses pedagogical theories with technological tools to establish quality standards,

encompassing instructional goals, content structuring, interaction design, evaluation methods,

and learner support tools. It engages learners meaningfully through multimedia, interactivity, and

collaboration. Moreover, it facilitates strategic implementation and adoption of technology-

driven education and training systems, assessed for scale, sustainability, and resource utilization.

This framework optimizes learning experiences while ensuring efficient use of resources.

Web Design and Web Development

Web design and development focus on creating websites that function. The design

ensures usability, enhances user experience and simplifies navigation for effortless access to

information. The development part encompasses the entire process, from project design to

coding and implementing functionality, bringing websites and online programs to fruition (Team

Edu Leverage, 2021). Web development breathes life into digital platforms through various

programming languages and software.

Course Objectives

The learning objectives in the Web Design and Development Fundamentals provide

insightful options that allow students to learn all the necessary skills and information. Initially,

students understand basic terms related to web design and development. After that, they learn the

fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, basic web languages used in dynamic content.

Responsive web design objectives centered on the adaptability of devices and screen sizes.
3

Moreover, web accessibility standards are delivered to the students, enhancing inclusiveness and

usability (Team Leverage Edu, 2021). Lastly, this course covers the practical experience of

building and deploying websites as a link between the two otherwise incompatible worlds –

theory and practice, with one not being able to do without the other.

Course Structure

The primary modules of the Web Design and Development Fundamentals course have

seven fundamental areas, which can provide students with basic skills. In each module, starting

from Module 1, fundamental theories are taught, and we strive for full understanding. Modules 2

to 4 focus on key languages: Structure of the page – HTML, design layout styling – CSS, and

interaction with users or system response with JavaScript. Specifically, adaptive design for

responsiveness to various devices through module 5. Module 6 provided accessibility standards

on the Web for the most adherent to the inclusion purpose. In the end, Module 7 requires the live

construction of and launching sites with the aim of setting one's own experiences. Structured

learning also helps students to understand computer programming and aspects of web design

development in a systematized form.

Learning Materials

In the Web Design and Development Fundamentals, learning materials are assigned

properly to ensure quality education for learners. The core of the course learning is a series of

video lectures that provide presentations on key concepts and techniques with interactive features

for more elaborate explanations. Tutorials and text readings provide additional information;

explanations are more detailed and supported by examples. Moreover, coding practices and

projects provide practical knowledge that can be used efficiently to apply the skills learned
4

(Team Leverage Edu, 2021). Collaborative learning is also promoted by supplemental

resources and online forums where students can interact with other peers, ask questions, and get

help. Such a broad range of learning materials is provided to the students, and they get genuine

integrated education whereby web design theory is understood.

Assessment Methods

The Web Design and Development Fundamentals course assessment techniques measure

students' understanding, application of class content, collaboration skills, and critical mastery.

Quizzes and assessments after each module provide feedback and reinforce learning outcomes.

Coding assignments and projects foster critical thinking in real-world scenarios. Peer reviews

encourage collaborative feedback and diverse perspectives (Sutar, 2023). The final project

assesses students’ competence in conceptualizing, designing, and deploying a functional website.

These varied assessment methods offer a holistic evaluation of students’ abilities, ensuring

readiness for the web design and development field.

Technology Requirements

Students must satisfy some technological requirements for success in the Web Design and

Development Fundamentals online course. The second one includes the availability of a

computer with a good internet connection to access the course materials and be able to engage in

online activities. Moreover, students should have a web browser, which can be either Chrome,

Firefox, or Safari, installed on their computer; this is a prerequisite for them to access the course

website where they will view instructional material. Students will also benefit from using a text

editor suitable for coding-type assignments like Visual Studio Code or Sublime Text, which

would permit the writing and formatting of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript codes (Sutar, 2023).
5

Naturally, this is not required, but students still can utilize version control systems such as Git for

project management and cooperation with comfortable change tracking and teamwork. The

students will actively learn web design and development with compliance to such technology

needs.

Attributes of Web Design and Web Development.

Web design and development classes are as diverse and nuanced as they come, divided to

suit different skill levels aimed at people with varying reasons for taking the class. The

introductory ones provide simple ideas in low-level programs, whereas the experts find room to

deal with more complex issues; as such, both amateurs and professionals are satisfied. Some

courses emphasize design principles, whereas others discuss both the development and the

implementation of these types. They can be single modules or form part of more encompassing

computer science digital media programs. The period of courses differs significantly.

Introductory modules take weeks to months, and advanced ones take several months to years

(Ferati & Vogel, 2020). The target audiences include novices planning to learn basic HTML,

CSS, and JavaScript and intermediate users interested in responsive design or front-end

development. Advanced areas studied by professionals can be server-side scripting or web

application development. The delivery methods provided- written materials to tutorials, audio

lectures, podcasts, video lectures, and interactive learning tools cater to several people's learning

styles and preferences.

Engagement in Web Design and Development

Media acting as an interaction platform between instructors and students include email

platforms and live discussion forums, also known as live streams that send student-to-student
6

messages in which they exchange ideas or information (Ferati & Vogel, 2020). Collaboration is

also developed through group projects, peer reviews, and online forum discussions, which bring

a feeling of ''belonging'. Project-based learning methods are popular as a means of enabling

learners to use skills for real-life problems to acquire the ability to solve problems and prepare

learners who have yet to get into the workplace for the challenges they will meet. These elements

make an interesting learning atmosphere favorable for the proper transfer of knowledge in the

field of developing web designs.

Evaluation of Web Design and Web Development course

The institutional dimension includes management, academic operations, and student

support services. It concerns organizational structure, administrative support, academic policies,

and resources like technical assistance or library services. A productive course climate involves

effective administrative processes, key support services accessible to the students, and other

academic policies that are possibly user-friendly (Khan, 2021). The management dimension

focuses on studying the provided learning environment and information dissemination aimed at

coordinating otherwise uncoordinated mechanisms of education flow. This guarantees an

effective operation, clearly marked communication channels ensuring prompt delivery of

materials and announcements during study times. The well-made courses have proper

organization, good communication, and clean administrative processes.

The technological dimension assesses Infrastructure, hardware, and software used in the

course, ensuring relevance and accessibility across devices and browsers. A technology-savvy

course implements modern tools and platforms for productive learning (Khan, 2021). To ensure

effectiveness, the pedagogical aspect examines teaching and learning approaches, focusing on

alignment between instructional methods, assessment strategies, and learner engagement

7

activities. Pedagogically valid courses use diverse instruction methods, incorporate active

learning opportunities, and foster critical thinking skills.

The ethical facets in designing and developing websites are cultural, social, and diversity

components, fixing issues like copyright regulations and accessibility standards, and ethically

mandated content. A course based on ethics would advocate for standards compliance, diversity

and inclusion, and observance of intellectual property rights. The interface design dimension

concerns aspects of eLearning interfaces, namely, navigation architecture and accessibility

features (Khan, 2021). The interface of any learning software includes ease in using it, the look

and feel which must be aesthetically pleasing, and accessibility features for all learners alike that

will facilitate their experience.

Resource support ensures the availability of online assistance and materials necessary for

effective learning. It evaluates resources like tutorials, reference materials, coding exercises, and

technical support. An ideal course provides excellent resources and prompt assistance and

encourages independent learning. Evaluation measures learner improvement and assesses the

instructional quality and learning environment (Khan, 2021). It applies formative and summative

methods to gather feedback and analyze course metrics for improvement. A robust evaluation

system provides helpful feedback, informs decisions, and promotes continuous improvement.

The collaboration dimension: Although not directly mentioned by Khan In the

framework, collaboration is a significant feature of most eLearning courses. Collaboration

evaluation in the course includes determining group projects, peer interaction, and online forums

for discussions among students to facilitate an engagement level and a sense of community.
