Keyword: RTN 320F, Web LCT, microwave, BBU, RRU
Abstract: This document uses the RTN 320F as an example to describe the key configuration
items for RuralLink — a microwave fronthaul solution for wireless networks — on the Web LCT.
For details about the basic configuration of microwave links, see the configuration guide of
microwave devices available at http://support.huawei.com.

1 Usage Note
This document describes the RTN 320F configurations. The RTN 900 configurations are basically
the same as these for the RTN 320F.
In this document, the IF port 1-DMC5-1 and data port 1-DMC5-5 on the RTN 320F connecting to
the BBU are used as example.

2 Configuring Clock Tracing: Upstream NE (Device on the BBU

Side)
CLI-based configuration:
cfg-set-synclass-ex:1,2,0x01ff0005&0x00f10001
This command configures the clock source priority table, with the first parameter indicating the
slot ID, the second parameter indicating the number of clock sources, and the third parameter
indicating the optional clock source. For the third parameter, the value part 0x00f10001 indicates
the free running mode, and 0x01 of the value part 0x01ff0005 indicates the slot ID (hexadecimal)
and ff0005 of the value part 0x01ff0005 indicates the port ID.

3 Configuring Clock Tracing: Downstream NE (Device on the

RRU Side)
CLI-based configuration:
cfg-set-synclass-ex:1,3,0x01ff0001&0x01ff0002&0x00f10001
This command configures the clock source priority table, with the first parameter indicating the
slot ID, the second parameter indicating the number of clock sources, and the third parameter
indicating the optional clock source. For the third parameter, the value part 0x00f10001 indicates
the free running mode, and 0x01 of the value part 0x01ff0002 indicates the slot ID (hexadecimal)
and ff0002 of the value part 0x01ff0002 indicates the port ID.

5 Configuring Clock Source Priority

For the PTP Clock Priority 1 parameter, the value is 140 by default on the wireless network
device (as an upstream device). As a downstream device, the RTN must be configured with a
priority lower than that of the upstream device. A larger value indicates a lower priority and the
range for 1588V2 is 0 to 255. Therefore, this parameter must be set to a value from 141 to 255
(150 in this example). If the value on the wireless network device is changed, this parameter must
be reconfigured.
CLI-based configuration:
cfg-set-ptptimeattr:0xffff,0xff,0xffff,187,254,INTERNAL_OSCILLATOR,150,128

6 Configuring a PTP Clock Subnet No.

The wireless network requires this parameter to be set to 24. If the value on the wireless network
device is changed, this parameter must be reconfigured.
CLI-based configuration:
cfg-set-ptpdomain:24
Web LCT-based configuration:
