Question 1

My name is Bao. I am a SIM student that attended the

Higher Education Expo held recently. I appreciate your
effort that went into organizing this exhibition and the
chance of earning a view of making improvements it
offers. While the idea of it was promising, unfortunately,
the execution fell short in some aspects due to my
experience.
Firstly, the layout of the expo was not clear enough. The
content might be valuable but it won’t be delivered
efficiently without a clear layout. Additionaly, the booths
were crowded, which makes it difficult to process the
information without being interrupted. Moreover, the
pamphlets didn’t meet the official standards. They were
of low quality and not well printed. Finally, the panel
discussions didn’t go well for its lack of organization and
valuable insights. I was expecting a discussion that can
facilitate the exchange of ideas which will inspire and
enlighten people, however, what I experienced is a
discusson where people only cared about expressing
themselves as there’s no people in charge of managing
it, which led to an unproductive and disappointing
result.

To address these issues, I propose the following

suggestions. It might be beneficial to redesign the layout
from participants’ perspective to diminish the confusion
caused by the differences of knowledge between the
organizer and participants. And to prevent overcrowd,
rules that would control population like setting a
maximum limit for people in the booths are needed.
Furthermore, finding a professional factory to print
pamphlets would improve the quality of the pamphlets.
Last but not least, I strongly recommend assigning
people to hold the discussion based on a prepared
instructions.

I hope my suggestions would be taken into account.

Looking forward to seeing improvements in upcoming
exhibitions.

Question 1 (2)

My name is Bao. I am a SIM student that recently

attended the cooking workshop held at community
centre. I appreciate your effort that went into organizing
this event and the opportunity of learning new
techniques it offers. While the idea of it was promising,
the execution fell short in several aspects based on my
experience.
Firstly, the session didn’t begin on time. According to the
descriptions, it was supposed to begin at 6 pm but it
only began after 6.25pm. Since it was a 3-hour lesson,
the delay really caused inconvenience. Addtionally, I was
hoping to learn techniques that I could use at gatherings
and parties. However, the dishes this session taught was
very simple and lacked of valuable skills. For examples,
one of the dishes demonstrated was fried eggs.
Moreover, despite being an in-person session, the
cooking instructor didn’t take advantage of that to
enhance the experience. The instructor appeared
indifferent to the questions asked and repeat the
instructions on the screen all the time without passion.
The presentation was also poorly made and even so the
instructor was not familiar with it.
To address these issues, I propose the following
suggestions. It might be beneficial to demand the
instructor to come on time. And to prevent having
unhelpful lessons, more complex dishes should be
implented. Last but not least, I strongly recommend
replacing the instructor with someone who’s more
enthusiastic about cooking and teaching and better
prepared.
I hope my suggestions would be taken into account.
Looking forward to seeing improvements in upcoming
workshops.

Question 1 加练

You recently attended a free art workshop focused on

watercolor painting techniques, organized by a local art
center. While you appreciated the quality of the
equipment and the creative space provided, you
encountered several issues that affected your overall
experience. These included:

 The instructor’s teaching pace was too fast, leaving

little time for beginners to follow along.
 The materials provided were insufficient, leading
participants to share limited resources like brushes
and paints.
 The workshop environment was noisy and
distracting, making it difficult to concentrate on
your artwork.

Write a polite feedback letter to the workshop

organizer, addressing these concerns and providing
constructive suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:

1. Briefly introduce yourself and describe the

workshop you attended.
2. Highlight the issues you faced, providing specific
examples.
3. Offer practical suggestions for improving future
sessions.
4. Keep your tone respectful and professional.
5. Limit your letter to 150-250 words.

My name is Bao, a SIM student that recently attended

the free watercolor art workshop at the local center. I
appreciate your effort put into this session but the
execution fell short due to the following reasons.
Firstly, the beginners looking to learn little by little could
not make progress effectively due to the overly fast
teaching pace. This inconsiderate attitude leaving some
students confused and unmotivated. Additionally,
although the equipments meet professional standard, its
shortage led to people sharing tools against their wills.
Some have to wait and watch others painting until they
got a chance, which devalued the experience and
disrupted the flows. Finally, it was hard to focus on
creating art because of the constant distractions from
the surroundings.
To improve the workshop, I suggest ensuring the
instructor adjust his pace based on feedbacks. And to
avoid the sharing of resources, more materials should be
implemented. Last but not least, I recommend
diminishing the noises using sound insulation boards .
These changes would greatly enhance the experience
and meet participants’ expectations.
I hope my suggestions will be taken into account.
Looking forward to seeing improvements in upcoming
workshops.

2.0 Analysis of Findings

The survey conducted in 2022 has identified several
factors contributing to the mental health issues among
youths in singapore. This section will focus on analyzing
two key sources of these struggles: cost of living and
parents.

2.1 Cost of Living

High cost of living can create great mental stress for
youths living in singapore. Singapore, as a developed
country, required higher expense in many aspects such
as rent, food and transportation. Young adults aged 21
to 35 years, while spending most of the time studying in
colleges and have little work experience, are expected to
pay the expensive cost of living by themselves. With this
being said, it is possible for youths in singapore to
choose to cut their expenses in ways of living in worse
environments or eating less nutrient food to be able to
afford, which is related to having lower moods and more
frequent burnouts. This constant financial burden can
result in depression and anxiety.

2.2 Parents
Another major factor is stress from parents. The aging of
parents and the following high expectations from them
are common obstacles faced by many young adults. As
parents grow older and are anticipated to have more
rest, young adults are usually unable to offer this choice
to them due to inability of making money, which adds
another layer of stress to them. Meanwhile, some
parents have high expectations of their children,
expecting them to have a house and a car and get
married between 21 to 35 years and to live a ideal life in
their standards. With choices of living for themselves
being deprived, youths may feel pressured and not
understood or respected by their supposed dearest
people.
3.0 Recommendations
To address these issues, the Ministry of Health can
implement the following measures.

3.1 free counselors and advisors

By being offered free counselors and advisors, youths
will be able to face their problems properly, not only in
emotional aspects but also in reailty aspects. They will
gain valuable insights and promising plans to have a
better understanding of how to make better life choices
that lead to healthier lives.

3.2 Better retirement care

Youths in singapore will get a better chance to adapt to
their grown man life if the retirement care is improved.
Their parents won’t be forced to work and have financial
issues and thus youths will be able to focus on the
significant changes happening in their lives.
4.0 Conclusion
In conclusion, factors such as cost of living and parents
are significant contributors to mental health problems of
youths in singapore. Addressing these issues with the
measures of offering free counselors and advisors and
improving retirement care is essential. By taking
proactive steps, youths in singapore will be better
supported in overcoming these struggles and lead
healthier lives.
