Server.
 Understand the steps to install the Application Server.
 Identify the different Applications that are available and
supported by the Application Server.

Application Server Overview
 The IP Office Application Server is a single installation of selected IP Office
applications running on Linux.

 The installation of Linux is required if the Server is not supplied by Avaya.

 The Ignition process is required on Non-Avaya supplied Servers.

 However, installation requires minimal Linux knowledge due to the inclusion of a


the Web Management interface, which allows the server to be managed remotely
via a web browser.

The IP Office Application Server installation installs the following components:

 Linux
 Web Management
 Core Services
 One-X Portal for IP Office
 Voicemail Pro
 Avaya Call Recorder

Avaya Pre Built Application Server
The general specification of the servers used is:
 Form: Rack mounted server PC.
 RAM: 12 GB.
 Hard Disk: 250 GB.
 Ethernet Port: Only a single port (eth0) is supported.
The following are the default settings applied to the server:
 DHCP Mode: Off
 IP Address: 192.168.42.1
 NetMask: 255.255.255.0
 Gateway: Blank
 Hostname: The server MAC address.
 DNS1: Blank
 DNS2: Blank
 Time Zone: EST - Eastern Standard Time.
 Root User Password: Administrator

 Voicemail Pro

Non-Avaya Application Server
The following are the minimum server PC requirements:

 Compatible Servers:
– Please refer to Avaya for the most up to date information on the recommended and
supported Server.

 Minimum Specification Recommended Specification:


– Intel Pentium 64-bit Quad Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 4000 and/or equivalent.
– RAM Memory: 4 GB
– Hard Disk Space: 30 GB
– Operating System
– Drives
– Other Requirements
