Present the definition and purpose of community action
The purpose of community action in addressing social issues is
to create positive change by empowering individuals and groups
to work together toward solving societal challenges. Like,
1. Empowers Communities – It encourages people, especially
marginalized groups, to have a voice and take an active role in
improving their conditions.
2. Addresses Inequalities – Community action helps reduce
social disparities by ensuring that everyone has access to
basic needs like education, healthcare, and employment.
3. Promotes Social Responsibility – It instills a sense of duty
among individuals to help and uplift others, fostering a culture
of cooperation and solidarity.
4. Creates Sustainable Solutions – Unlike short-term relief
efforts, community-driven initiatives often focus on long-term,
impactful changes that address the root causes of issues.
5. Encourages Youth Involvement – Young people are
encouraged to take part in meaningful action, whether through
advocacy, volunteerism, or leadership roles.
Major Issues affecting poor and marginalized communities, such as:
Poverty
Lack of access to education
Health care disparities
Unemployment
Discrimination and social exclusion
Discuss the role of the youth in community action:
Raising awareness through social media
Volunteering in community projects
