Q-28 WHY NOT OTHER UNIVERSITIES U CHOSE? HOW YOU CAN COMPARE THIS

UNIVERSITY WITH OTHER UNIVERSITIES WHERE U APPLIED OR THINKING OF APPLYING

I chose Ulster University for my International Business course over Greenwich University's

MA in International Business because Ulster's program aligns more closely with my

academic and career goals. While both universities offer strong courses, Ulster's emphasis

on practical learning and real-world applications stands out. Although Greenwich covers

essential subjects, it doesn't feature my favorite module, The Digital Landscape module is

vital for understanding the impact of digital technologies on business operations and will

prepare me with essential digital marketing and data analysis skills. With its comprehensive
curriculum and alignment with my interests, Ulster University is the ideal choice for my

educational journey.

If I talk about location, Ulster University's Birmingham campus is strategically located in the

heart of the business district, providing a peaceful environment that supports focused

learning. Birmingham is generally more affordable than London, where Greenwich

University is situated, resulting in higher living costs and a busier lifestyle that can be

distracting. The affordability of Birmingham will enable me to maintain a balanced lifestyle

while pursuing my studies. Furthermore, the less crowded atmosphere at Ulster promotes a

conducive learning environment.

Additional

 Ulster University is ranked 42nd, while Greenwich University holds the 110 th position

in university rankings.

Q-32 Why are you not completing your degree here in your home country? / Why not opt

for studies in your own homeland?

I have decided not to pursue my degree in Pakistan because my academic and professional

goals do not align well with the country's educational system. In Pakistan, many programs

emphasize rote learning instead of promoting the critical thinking and analytical skills

essential for advanced studies in international business. This raises concerns about my

readiness to tackle the complexities of a global business environment. Additionally,

numerous institutions in Pakistan lack the necessary resources and infrastructure to provide

a modern and innovative education. For these reasons, I have chosen to study abroad for my

MSc in International Business. I believe my success will depend on thriving in an

environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and the practical application of

knowledge in the global marketplace.

Q-33 How much salaries are being offered for the job roles in your Home country?

Salaries range from 250k to 300k per month.

Q-34 Has anyone helped you in the admission or visa process?

Yes, I had taken the help of a university representative Times Consultant for admission-

related matters. For the visa, I will do everything myself as it is an online process.

Q-35 What are other countries that you might have considered while looking for

options? / What other countries had you considered while researching for options?

In considering my options for studying abroad, I explored opportunities in Canada and the

UK. Canada has several reputable universities offering strong programs in International

Business; however, I encountered some challenges. The high cost of living could make it

difficult to manage my finances while pursuing my studies. Additionally, obtaining a student

visa in Canada can be complicated, often requiring extensive paperwork that could lead to

delays and added stress. Given these factors, particularly the elevated living expenses and

the complex visa requirements, pursuing my degree in the UK would be a more

straightforward and manageable choice.

Discuss about the University of Canada with counselor.

Q-36 Does your father expect/wants you to return this money?

Well, my father has not asked me to return this invested money on my education though I

would still offer him as I know my father very well, but he would not accept it.

Q-37 Will you be working in the UK?

No, I will not be working in the UK, as this is not my intention. I am just coming to the UK for

the purpose of a highly recognized qualification. I just want to focus on my studies.

Q-38 What are the working regulations in the UK?

For the Master’s Program, a student will be allowed to work 20 hours per week. And on

Vacations, students can work for 40 hours per week.

Q-39 Where did you searched this university, what did you write at google so you have

the option of selected university?

After deciding to study abroad, I joined various Facebook groups like 'Study in the UK', etc.

From there, I learned about Ulster University, and for further research, I searched for

information about Ulster University on Google to understand its requirements and facilities.

I have since shortlisted this university.

After completing my last degree, I attended a study abroad expo in my city. I met various

University Representatives there, and Ulster University attracted me the most. After that, I

went through Ulster University's websites and finalized these options.

Q-40 How Do you think Living in the UK will affect your mental health? or do you think

you will feel Home sick?

I don't think so, living in the UK will affect my mental health, and I’ll keep in touch with my

family and friends through regular calls and video chats. I also plan to join campus activities

and clubs to meet new people and make new friends.

I can also utilize university counseling services, I can engage myself in physical activities, and

explore the local area. This will help me feel less lonely and adjust more easily.

Q-41 Process of UK application is very simple you could have handled it yourself Why

have you hired the consultant? Why do you think hiring the consultant is a better option?

Even though I’m confident in handling most parts of the application process myself, an

educational consultant can still be really helpful. They are the official representative of the

universities and they know about the latest changes in admission rules, which might be

tricky for me to track on my own. They also offer personalized advice based on their

experience with other students, which can help me make better decisions. So, while I can

manage a lot myself, a consultant can provide extra support in these areas
Q-42 What specific aspects of the UK’s education system do you believe are superior to

those in other countries?

The UK education system focuses on constant improvement. Universities are ranked by

research, student satisfaction, and job prospects, which drives them to get better.

They teach using current research and offer support like academic help and career advice.

They also update their programs based on feedback from students and industry experts.

Overall, this helps keep the education system effective and up-to-date.

Q-43 How do you think this course will challenge you? What can be challenging part of

course? How to overcome?

Embarking on my MSc in International Business begins an exciting and transformative

journey. It will require me to step outside my comfort zone and adapt to new academic and

cultural expectations. The Global Strategy Development & Implementation module, in

particular, will challenge me to analyze how organizations create and execute strategies in

diverse markets, exploring the complexities of global business dynamics. This module will

demand strong critical thinking and a comprehensive perspective as I engage with intricate

issues related to market entry, competitive advantage, and cross-cultural management.

Adjusting to life in the UK may present personal challenges, but these are valuable growth

opportunities.
To overcome any hurdles, I plan to devote extra time to my studies and actively seek

guidance from professors and peers. With determination and focus, I am confident I will

excel in my program and fully embrace this enriching experience.

Q-44 What challenges will you face as an international student in UK?

As an international student, I will often face several challenges. I find it difficult to adjust to a

new culture and different ways of living. The academic differences can be tough as well, with

new teaching styles and grading systems to navigate. Language barriers sometimes make it

hard for me to understand and communicate effectively. Managing my finances is another

challenge, as I need to balance living costs with tuition fees. Homesickness is common for

me, as being away from family and familiar places can be tough. Making new friends and

fitting into a new social scene takes time, and dealing with visa rules and university

procedures can often feel complicated.

(Will be further discussed in your mock session – practice sessions for the prep of your

university interview).
