1. This Question paper contains - five sections A, B, C, D and E. Each section is compulsory. However,
there are internal choices in some questions.
2. Section A has 8 MCQ’s and 02 Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 3 Very Short Answer (VSA)-type questions of 2 marks each.
4. Section C has 2 Short Answer (SA)-type questions of 3 marks each.
5. Section D has 2 Long Answer (LA)-type questions of 5 marks each.
6. Section E has 2 source based/case based/passage based/integrated units of assessment of 4 marks each
with sub-parts.

18. A class teacher Mamta Sharma of class XI write three sets A, B and C are such that A = {1, 3, 5,7,
9}, B = {2, 4, 6, 8} and C = {2, 3, 5, 7, 11}.
Answer the following questions which are based on above sets.
(i)Find A ∩ B.
(ii) Find A ∩ C

19. The ordered pair of two elements a and b is denoted by (a, b): a is first element (or first component)
and b is second element (or second component)
Two ordered pairs are equal if their corresponding elements are equal i.e., (a, b) = (c, d) ⇒ a = c and
b = d Cartesian product of two sets for two non-empty sets A and B, the cartesian product A x B is
the set of all ordered pairs of elements from sets A and B.
In symbolic form, it can be written as
A x B = {(a, b): a ∈ A, b ∈ B}
Based on the above topics, answer the following questions.
(i)if (a – 3, b + 7) = (3, 7) then the value a and b are
(a) 6, 0 (b) 3, 7 (c) 7, 0 (d) 3, -7
(ii) Let A and B be two sets such that A x B consists of 6 elements. If three elements of A x B are (1,
4) (2, 6) and (3, 6), then find A and B.
(iii) If n(A x B) = 45, then find n(A) .
