Cuando tengo que hablar de mi rutina tenemos que usar el pronombre personal de la primera persona del
singular (I) siempre en mayúscula.
Entonces para decir "Yo me levanto" digo " I get up" y si tenemos que decir la hora le agregamos siempre la
preposición AT y luego la HORA: "Yo me levanto A LAS 3 en punto" - " I get up AT three o´clock."

PRESENT SIMPLE: 3RD PERSON SINGULAR
(HE / SHE / IT)
Language in Use

Cuando hablamos de actividades diarias o rutinas los verbos se conjugan con la tercera persona del singular
(HE / SHE / IT) en las oraciones AFIRMATIVAS. Cuando hablamos de la primer persona del singular (I), o la
segunda persona del singular (YOU) o las personas de plural (WE / YOU / THEY) los verbos NO se conjugan.
Existen ciertas reglas ortográficas a tener en cuenta cuando conjugamos los verbos con HE / SHE / IT:
Todos los verbos agregan “s”:

I get up at six o’clock. He gets up at six o´clock.


They start school at eight o’clock. She starts school at eight o´clock.
We drink coffee at breakfast. He drinks coffee at breakfast.

Hay verbos que terminados en o / ch / sh / x / ss agregan “es”:

I go to school at six. Lucy goes to school at six.


My parents watch TV. She watches TV.
You finish school at two o´clock. Mario finishes school at two o´clock.

Los verbos que terminan en CONSONANTE + Y se cambia a “i” y agregan “es”. Mientras que los que
terminan en VOCAL + Y solamente agregan “s”.

ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
Los adverbios de frecuencia son palabras que se usan para indicar con que periodicidad alguien o algo hace
una actividad. Los adverbios de frecuencia siempre responden a la pregunta “How often…?” (¿Con que
frecuencia…?:
How often do you watch TV? (¿Con que frecuencia Always (Siempre) – 100 %
miras tele?) Usually (Usualmente) – 75 %
Often (Con frecuencia) – 50 %
Sometimes (A veces) – 25 %
Never (Nunca) – 0 %

El grado de porcentajes indica la frecuencia con que se hace la actividad.


ATENCION!!!! En inglés los adverbios de frecuencia van siempre ubicados ANTES del verbo a excepción del
verbo to be (am/is/are) que van DESPUES.
EJEMPLOS:
 I usually get up at seven o´clock. (Adelante de cualquier verbo)
 I am always late for school. (Despues del to be)

EXPRESIONES DE TIEMPO DEL PRESENTE SIMPLE


Van siempre al final de la oración.

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME (PREPOSICIONES DE TIEMPO)


ON Se usa con los días de la semana: on Mondays, on Tuesdays, etc. Para decir los lunes, los
martes, etc.
AT Se usa para indicar la hora (at three o´clock), at the weekend (los fines de semana), at midday
(al medio día), at night (a la noche), at midnight (a la media noche).
IN Se usa con los meses del año: in January, in February, etc. O partes del día: in the morning (en
la mañana), in the afternoon (en la tarde), in the evening (en la tardecita/noche).

FUNCIÓN INTERROGATIVA

Respuestas largas: wh-questions se las llaman así porque se agregan al comienzo de las interrogativas,
las palabras who (quien), where (donde), when (cuando), what (que), why (por que) how (como), how
often (con qué frecuencia), what time (a qué hora), etc. y se las llama preguntas de respuestas largas
porque siempre se debe elaborar una respuesta para el interrogante de la oración:

A Day in the Life of a Japanese Teenager

Toshiro is thirteen years old and lives in Kyoto, Japan.

I always get up early – usually about half past six. I go to school at about a quarter past
seven. I usually cycle to school.
My favourite subjects are Science and Maths. Lunch is at half past twelve and we have
lunch in our classroom. We finish classes at three o’clock and then we tidy up the
classroom. After school I go to the tennis club. Then I go to an extra English class at a
