OBJECTIVES
The Department of Tourism (DOT) assures the safe,
convenient, enjoyable stay and travel of foreign and
local tourists in the country. It formulates policies,
plans, programs, rules, and regulations; reviews and
evaluates the performance of the Tourism Master
Plan and advises the President on all matters
affecting the tourism program of the country. It
promotes the sustainability.

WHAT IS YOUR REACTION UPON


ANALYZING THE ARTICLE The article highlights the vulnerability of the industry
and its dependence on global travel. The significance
on tourism it led to financial losses for the sector
and changed customer preferences toward more
local, new health and safety regulations have
become commonplace. Even if there is still optimism
for a rebound, continuing challenges and shifting
customer expectations will continue to influence
how tourism develop.

PROPOSAL
Due to the impact of COVID-19 on tourism that
affected many industry such as the accommodation,
food & beverage, transportation, and attractions and
entertainment immediate recovery plan must be put
in action such as the maintenance of hygiene
protocols, introduction of new products/services,
promotion of local experiences, and digital
marketing strategies to make the tourism industry
rise and development despite of the impact of
COVID-19 pandemic. Its overall impact can be a
significant contribution to our country’s economic
development and sustainability.
ACTION PLAN

1. Maintenance of hygiene protocols


-maintain rigorous cleaning and disinfection protocols to reassure customers about their
safety.
-by implementing this strategies, tourism industry can effectively prevent the spread of
viruses. It well help maintaining a positive image to enhance the reputation of tourism &
confidence of customers.
2. Introduction of new products/services
-consider offering new products or services to attract a wider range of customers. It is
innovation of product through using technology to address challenges of customers and the
development of more attractions.
-by implementing this strategies, it well increased customer’s satisfaction by providing
solution & addressing travel anxieties.
3. Promotion of local experiences
-focus on showcasing authentic local experiences and attractions that appeal to travelers
seeking unique and meaningful journeys. It involve showcasing & facilitating authentic
community driven activities.
-by embracing this approach, tourism business can cater travel needs, enhanced customer
satisfaction & can contribute the economic & cultural well-being of local communities.
4. Digital marketing strategies
-utilize online platforms, social media, and content marketing to reach potential customers.
This strategies often convenient online booking option for accommodation & package tours.
It well addressing concerns & thinking for their feedback.
-by implementing this strategies, tourism business can effectively communicate with
customers, address concerns & build long lasting relationship.
