His way out was a bit cruelly funny, wasn’t it?


Poem 1

We used to whisper under moonlight,


Tangled in words that no one else heard.
You’d laugh like you knew what was coming,
Like you already saw it all unfold.

The world was something we wore on our backs,


Heavy with promises we never made.
But we were light, floating,
The two of us against everything else.

Then the light began to fade,


But it was quiet—so quiet.
You didn’t say it, and neither did I,
But I knew we were running out of time.
Poem 2

There were days when we didn’t talk,


But I could still feel you in the silence.
You were there, and I was here,
And the distance wasn’t much of a distance at all.

I thought we’d be okay—


I thought we’d be okay together.
But you slipped away when I wasn’t looking,
And I couldn’t catch up.

I didn’t chase you.


I never did, not really.
I just watched as you faded—
And I knew I would follow soon.
Poem 3

Your room is still there,


The walls haven’t changed.
The books we read, the songs we sang—
_“I love you when you’re walking away,”_
They still echo in the corners.

But you’re not here.


You never came back.
And I wonder, if you felt like I did—
Like we both needed to be somewhere else.

I’d ask if you’re happy now,


But I already know the answer.
There’s peace in what you did,
Even if they’ll never understand.

He showed us a way out—
