1. What are the factors that influence Gender Identity?
The factors that influence Gender Identity are biological, social, and language factors. Pre- and
post-natal hormone levels, as well as genetic makeup, are biological influences. Family,
authority figures, the media, and significant persons in a child's life all contribute to social
factors such as gender roles. Language is another aspect that plays a big influence in the gender
identity process.
