APPLICALTION IN VIRUDHUNAGAR

SYNOPSIS

1.1 Introduction of digital banking

Digital banking has transformed the financial sector by providing seamless, efficient, and
secure banking services through mobile applications. Mobile banking apps like MBANK,
YONO bank have made banking more accessible, offering features such as fund transfer, bill
payments, investment management, and loan application. This study aims to explore the
adoption, usage, benefits, and challenges of mobile banking application. The research will
analyze customer behavior, security concerns, and satisfaction levels while identifying
potential areas for improvement in digital banking services.

1.2 History of digital banking

 1980s The concept of electronic banking emerged with the introduction of ATMs
and telephone banking.

 1990s Internet banking was introduced, allowing customers to access banking


services online. In 1994, Stanford federal credit union became one of the first
financial institutions to offers online banking to its customers.

 2000s The rise of smartphones led to the development of mobile banking apps,
further expanding digital banking services.

 2010s-present Fintech innovations, AI BlockChain, and digital payments system


have made digital banking more advanced, secure, and widely adopted.

 Online account management customers can open, manage, and monitor their
bank accounts entirely online, including checking balances, viewing statements, and
managing transactions.

 Fund transfers and payments users can transfer money between accounts, pay
bills, and send money to others instantly, both locally and internationally, using
platforms like online banking and mobile wallets.

 24/7 Accessibility Digital banking allows customers to access their accounts and
perform transaction at any time, without relying on physical branch hours.
 Enhanced security Digital banking uses advanced security protocols such as two-
factor authentication (2FA), biometric identification (Fingerprint or facial
recognition), and encryption to protect sensitive customer data.

Although mobile banking application provide convenience and accessibility, their


adoption in Virudhunagar faces several challenges. Many users are hesitant to use mobile
banking due to security concerns, lack of digital literacy, network issues, and technical
glitches. Additionally, factors such as customer support, transaction failures, and awareness
about mobile banking features impact user experience.

The research seeks to evaluate how mobile banking apps like MBANK, YONO BANK
influence customer behavior, identify barriers to adoption, and provide recommendations for
improving mobile banking services in virudhunagar.

The study follows a descriptive research design to analyze customer adoption,


challenges, and satisfaction level with mobile banking application. Both qualitative and
quantitative method are used for data collection and analysis.

A structured questionnaire is prepared using google forms and shared with banking
customers in virudhunagar. The survey focuses on user experience, transaction security, ease
of use, and customer satisfaction with M bank, YONO bank. Response are collected from
individual who actively use mobile banking services.

Data from research papers, financial reports, RBI guidelines, and case studies on
mobile banking. Analysis of mobile banking trends, security frameworks, and user adoption
statistics.

 Convenience sampling is used to select banking customers in virudhunagar who are


use mobile banking apps.

 A sample size of 50 respondents is chosen for meaningful data analysis.

 Survey data is analyzed using google sheets, excel, and SPSS to calculate percentage, mean
values, and graphical representations.

 Thematic analysis is conducted for qualitative responses to identify patterns in customer


feedback

 The study is limited to user of MBANK and YONO bank in virudhunagar, which
may not respresent all mobile banking users.

 The finding depend on self-reported data, which may not response biases.

 The study does not cover user who do not have access to smart phones or internet
banking.
