WHAT TO DO BEFORE,
DURING, AND AFTER
VOLCANIC ERUPTION
Volcanic Eruption
Volcanic eruptions, to some extent,
maybe predicted. Some signs like
frequent tremors near the volcano
with rumbling sounds, swelling of
the ground, and increase in
temperature of surface water, are
used to predict a possible eruption.
Volcanic Eruption

When volcanic eruptions occur,

we are all affected but we can
reduce the risk brought about
by volcanic eruptions.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: A. Before A Volcanic Eruption
1. Be aware of any unusual volcanic
activity.
2. Listen to the radio or people in
authority for an update on volcanic
activity.
3. Prepare emergency supplies like
flashlights, candles, matches and
first aid kit.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: A. Before A Volcanic Eruption
4. Store enough food and drinking
water to sustain you in case of great
destruction.
5. Evacuate to safer areas or
designated evacuation centers, if
necessary.
6. Prepare masks in case of ash fall
or volcanic smog.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: B. During A Volcanic Eruption

Avoid going back to your house
while the volcano is still erupting.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: C. After A Volcanic Eruption

1. After the eruption, do not return

home right away. Wait for the
instructions from authorized
government agencies as to when
it is safe to return home.

lahar flows under them.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: C. After A Volcanic Eruption
