Should cellphones be banned in school or no?

All over the world, technology is developing from day to day, especially on digital.
Due to social, business, and education’s requirement, people need it to settle for all those
matters. Computers, Laptops, Tablets, and Cellphones are the modern digital on technology.
Cellphones being in school is a hotly debated issue nowadays. With all the teenagers having
cellphones now the issue of them in school seems to be bigger than it has ever been. Many
people think that they are beneficial while others say they distract kids.

Cellphone is a device which is used daily by the people to help their work and their
personal needs, and it’s also popular for any age of people. However, cellphone is a device
that causes people to be addictive in a wrong way. According to the global report, the
children under 18 faces with mental issues, commit wrong activities and crimes, and suicide
when they believe the news and some information on social media through the cellphone.
So, it should not be used by students in primary and secondary schools. UN report has
suggested smartphones should be banned in schools globally to protect children’s mental
health and improve learning. In many schools, smartphones are not allowed to be used
during lessons and should be turned off but can be used for emergencies. The professor
Adam Lee Barrett said ‘Smartphones in schools are a problem’. “Teenagers with cellphones
don’t learn and use them and hide them under their desks. It’s a daily chore to walk around
the classroom trying to collect them, especially when they say they don’t have them and put
them in their pockets”. Like in China, the Ministry of Education has ruled that children are
restricted from using phones in school. They want the children to protected from damaged
eyesight, and improve the concentration in class. Moreover, they want the kid and the
family members get communication each other. According to the American Academy of
Pediatrics, schools are trying to help by banning cellphones while class is in session because
nearly all American teenagers have access to a smartphone, but studies show that too much
screen time can have a negative effect on a child's mental health. Students have overuse
technology can lead to less sleep, disengagement from friends and family, emotional
stunting and can cause depression and anxiety. Due to U.S Department of Education 77% of
public school’s restricted students from using cellphones. However, cellphone is also a
device which can help and support student on their study and social communication.
Because of these good points, the ministry of telecommunication in each country should
have the protection of using internet and application. School should have the rule of using
cellphones below high school cannot use cellphones, high school students indeed need to
use it for educational purpose. In addition, parents must control their kids to sign up
account of using under parents management they must: Limit the time to play, like
smartphones, Tablets or any devices that uses internet. For example, UK used to ban
cellphone in school because it can distract students from learning and extra stress into
teachers. In this situation UK has allowed students to use it with the school’s rule and
responsibility. According to the Global Indian International School, Mobile phones emit
radiofrequency radiation, which connects them to cell towers that provide coverage. The
signal that smartphones emit is called electromagnetic radiation. This electromagnetic
radiation covers other types of radiation, such as heat and microwaves, which are emitted
as byproducts when mobile phones are used. When we place our mobile phones close to
our ears, the radio waves are passed on directly into our brains. This has a huge impact on
our overall health. Regarding to the World Health Organization (WHO), there is a strong link
between mobile phone use and increased risk of cancer. Kids are highly vulnerable to the
bad effects of mobile phones as their bodies are still developing. The revealed of harmful
effect of Cellphone on student are poor vision, lack of focus, isolation, anxiety, poor
academic performance, accidents, sleep loss, bad posture, immoral activities, and cyber
bullying.

To sum up, cellphone should be banned for student at school with the age under 16
years old. In my opinion, cellphone is a tool which has two faces good effect and bad effect.
It will be a valuable resource if the student or other people use it with understanding
purposes and right purposes to do. It will be weapon for researching important things and
making success with it. Overall, schools should allow students to bring their phones and
they school must educate them on how to use cellphones with benefits and responsibilities
although parents and teachers might not think the same way, as I do, even if it can cause
damage to your mental health try avoiding things that should not be done.
