LAG-LEAD COMPENSATOR NETWORK
AIM: To draw the frequency response characteristic of a given lag- lead compensating network.
THEORY: Lag lead compensator is a combination of a lag compensator and lead compensator. The lag
section has one real pole and one real zero with pole to the right of zero. The lead section also has one real
pole and one zero but zero is to the right of the pole. When both steady state and transient response require
improvement, a lag lead compensator is required.

SAMPLE CALCULATION:
PROCEDURE:
1) Connections are made as shown in the figure.
2) Values of R1, R2 and C1, C2 are adjusted to practical design values.
3) A sine wave i/p frequency say 100Hz is applied to the circuit and input voltage, output voltage and
phase angle are noted.
4) Frequency of the input voltage is increased in steps and output voltage; output voltage and phase angle are
noted.
5) The above procedure (step 4) is repeated for higher frequencies also.
6) Using the result bode plot is constructed on semi log sheet.
