1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this Method Statement is to define the procedures for the Installation of LVT tiles in accordance
to the relevant specifications and drawings.

2.0 SCOPE

The scope of work comprises the supply and installation of LVT (luxury vinyl tile) for City Walk –
Phase5, Central Park, Plot 5.04 Dubai PROJECT.

 Project Quality Plan.


 Project HSE Plan
 Approved Structural Shop Drawings
 Approved Material Submittal for LVT Tiles

4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Manager/Construction Manager:


 The Project Manager /Construction Manager are responsible for the implementation of Method
Statement.
 The Project Manager /Construction Manager shall ensure that the key personnel are well aware of the
Specification and Method Statement.
 The Project Manager /Construction Manager shall ensure that all resources like Manpower, Material
and Equipment are available to carry out the work as planned and without any delay or confusions.
 Coordinate with the QC and EHS team for proper execution of work in a safe environment.
 Implement and monitor effectiveness of the risk assessment program.
 Regularly discuss OSH at periodic meetings.
 Ensure allocation of budget and resources to execute the activities as per the legal and local
requirements.
 Ensure availability of welfare facility for the workforce.

Project Engineer:
 The Project Engineer is responsible to carry out the work as per the Method Statement, Specification
and Approved Drawings.
 The Project Engineer shall ensure that the resources are available to carry out the works as scheduled.
 The Project Engineer shall be available at site full time for the execution of works as per schedule and
specification.
 Ensure that MSRA trained to site supervisors upon approval and prior to work executions, in additional
to periodic training for the MSRA.
 Ensure reporting of any new hazard/incidents/ unplanned events to EHS team to review of the MSRA.
 Ensure that all workforces are fully aware about the emergency response and evacuation procedure.
 Ensure full compliance with EHS recommendations during ejection of the activity.

QA/QC Engineer/Inspector:
 The QA/QC Engineer/Inspector is responsible for the effective monitoring, implementation &
documentation of QA/QC Procedures.
 The QA/QC Engineer/Inspector shall ensure the implementation of ITP and Method Statements.
 The QA/QC Engineer/Inspector shall ensure that all the approvals are available for the safe
movements of works.
 The QA/QC Engineer/Inspector will coordinate with the consultant for site work inspection.

Supervisor:
 The supervisor is responsible to carry out the work as per the Method Statement, Specification and
Approved Drawings.
 The supervisor shall be available at site full time for the execution of works.
 Ensure that workforce is trained about the MSRA.
 Ensure that welfare facilities are well maintained and housekeeping is proper during work execution.
 Ensure that daily task briefing is conducted prior to work commencement.
 Ensure that head counting is in place after break hours.

Surveyor:
 The Surveyor shall ensure that all the survey related works carried out as per the approved drawings.
 The Surveyor shall ensure that setting out and level carried out with Total station and Auto level.
 For all survey related works he shall be available at site full time.

Safety Engineer/Officer:
 The Safety officer shall observe and advise all site personnel of all safety requirements in addition to
giving safety inductions on regular basis or whenever necessary.
 Conduct induction/training to site staff/workers.
 Conduct site inspection and report deficiencies to project manager/HSE Manager.

Sub-Contractor:
 Ensure the work is carried out as per the Method Statement, Specification and Approved Drawings.
 Ensure that the resources are available to carry out the works as scheduled.
 Ensure that MSRA trained to site supervisors upon approval and prior to work executions, in additional
to periodic training for the MSRA.
 Ensure reporting of any new hazard/incidents/ unplanned events to EHS team to review of the MSRA.
 Ensure the availability of competent employees to complete the task
 Ensure the availability of adequate welfare facilities at site
 Ensure the availability of required PPE at site

8.0 WORK SEQUENCES

Preparation Works:

2. ADHESIVES

Application of the adhesives is carried out using the correct trowel notch as recommended by the
adhesive supplier. We recommend the use of low-emission and solvent-free adhesives
Care should be taken to ensure the correct choice of adhesive as this can have an effect on the
indentation characteristics of the floor covering after the installation has been carried out.

3. STORAGE, ACCLIMATIZATION AND CONDITIONS FOR INSTALLING

Correct storage is essential to ensure that the technical laying properties of Interface LVTs are
retained.

Before starting of the LVT installation, the sub floor should be aligned and leveled.

Air condition should be functioning and be suitable for the installation of LVT as per manufactures
recommendation (Min 18 to 24 C)

4. INSTALLATION OF INTERFACE LVT TILES


o Inspection of Subfloor and notify any irregularity to START at least 3 days prior to start the
installation.
o Establishing a Starting Point: A suitable starting point shall be marked before starting the
Installation as per manufacturer’s instructions and as per Shop Drawings to insure correct
installation direction.
o Apply glue as per Installation standards
o LVT tiles shall be laid as per recommended direction at the site and approved shop drawings
o Ongoing Inspection: Inspect the tiles during the installation to remove any snags or to correct
any issues with the installation to avoid any issues later.
o Remove all the cut pieces and packaging material from the site.

GENERAL WORK

4.1 Clear away rubbish as work proceeds


4.2 Lease with Designer and other Work Contractor as necessary
4.3 Respond to and evaluate designer instruction as they are received
4.4 Prepare and submit interim valuation bills by the agreed dates
4.5 Ensure health and safety procedures are followed by all the site operatives under our control

POST CONTRACT WORK

4.6 Carry out remedial work as required during the defect liability period
4.7 Prepare as built drawings if required
4.8 Prepare and agree the final account as soon as possible sifter the completion of work.

9.0 HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

 All works shall be performed in accordance with the HSE plan and Procedures .
 Cutting Knifes shall be used in cutting the LVT tile to control risk to fitters and personnel. Stanley knifes'
old blades to be removed from site. Knives in use by experienced personnel. Stored in Tool Box and
Sleeve retractable.
 The fitters are very experienced in handling flooring materials. They use trolleys where possible to move
materials on site.
 Site should be clean and free from any other work as LVTs are last finish to go at the site.
 PPE should be worn by the fitters to avoid any incident due to other work at other part of site
 Site Supervisor will ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is worn by site personnel at all times
during site activities.
 Site Foreman will ensure all electrical tools are inspected.
 Prior to commencement of any activity, all operatives will be given a general site safety induction by HSE
Officer; the Site Supervisors will also conduct Tool Box talks and method statement briefings to the
Personnel involved in operation. Attendance records will be kept.
 General PPE for all operatives will consist of safety footwear and safety helmets. Specific PPE will be
issued as necessary.
 Workers will strictly follow site safety procedures in order to avoid any mishap.
 Site foreman will take swift action in case of any emergency situation in our areas of works.
