Speaking Cue Cards with their details:

1. Describe a person you know who has chosen
a career in the medical field (e.g., a doctor, a
nurse)
• Who he/she is.
• What he/she does.
• Why he/she chose this career.
• Explain how you feel about him/her.

Here’s a more detailed version that should fit into a

two-minute time frame:

I’d like to tell you about a close friend of mine, Naimur

Rahman. Naimur is a medical assistant, and he plays
a crucial role in supporting doctors by managing and
organizing patient information. His work involves
everything from recording medical histories to
ensuring that patients’ records are accurately
updated and accessible. He works in a setting where
he helps streamline the entire process, making sure
everything runs smoothly during appointments and
treatments.
Naimur chose this career path because of his deep
desire to help people in his home district. Growing
up, he saw firsthand how people in his community
often faced challenges accessing healthcare. This
motivated him to pursue a career in the medical
field, where he could contribute to improving
healthcare services and provide support to doctors,
who often have many patients to manage. By
working behind the scenes, he knows that his
contributions are directly impacting the well-being of
those in need.

I feel incredibly proud of Naimur. He’s doing a

fantastic job in his career, and I admire his
commitment to helping others. It’s not always easy
work, especially in a busy healthcare environment,
but Naimur consistently demonstrates dedication
and compassion. His drive to help his community is
inspiring, and I’m so happy to see him succeed in a
career that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

2. Describe a person who likes to read a lot

• Who this person is.
• How you knew him/her.
• What he/she likes to read.
• Explain why you think he/she likes to read a lot.
One of my friends, whom I know from Facebook, is
someone who loves to read a lot. Her name is [Insert
Name], and we connected online because of our
shared interests in books and literature. Over time,
we’ve also had the chance to meet in person several
times, which has deepened our friendship.

She has a particular fondness for short poems and

storybooks. She often shares her favourite lines or
excerpts on her social media, which are always
thought-provoking and inspiring. Additionally, she
enjoys exploring other genres, such as fiction and
self-help books, whenever she finds the time.

I believe she prefers reading books over watching

movies because reading offers a deeper and more
personal experience. Unlike movies, which present a
director’s vision, books allow her to imagine the
characters, settings, and emotions in her own way.
For her, reading is not just entertainment but also a
way to relax, reflect, and connect with different
perspectives.

Her passion for books is evident in the way she speaks

about them and the joy she gets from discovering
new stories. I think this is why she enjoys reading so
much—it’s her way of exploring the world and finding
meaning in life through words.
3. Describe a time when you lost an important
and valuable item
• When and where it happened.
• What it was.
• How important and valuable it was.
• How you lost it.
• Explain how you felt about the experience.

I still remember the time when I lost something very

important and valuable to me. It happened when I
was in 9th grade. I had taken my mobile phone with
me to school for safety reasons, as it was the only
way for me to contact my parents if needed.

The incident occurred in the classroom. I had kept my

phone in my bag, but at some point during the day, it
went missing. To this day, I don’t know whether
someone stole it or if it was misplaced. There were
no clues or evidence to figure out what had
happened.

The phone was incredibly important to me, not just

because it was expensive, but also because it was
my lifeline for communicating with my parents.
Losing it was a huge blow, and I felt frustrated and
helpless. The shock of the incident stayed with me
for a long time, and I was deeply upset for several
days afterward.

Looking back, it was a tough experience, but it also

taught me to be more cautious with my belongings.
The memory of that day still lingers, reminding me
how important it is to take care of valuable items,
especially in public spaces.

4. Describe a time when you answered a phone

call from someone you didn’t know in a public
place
• When and where it happened.
• Who called you.
• What he/she said.
• How you corresponded.
• Explain how you felt about the experience.
A few months ago, I was at home, casually watching a
movie when my phone rang. It was an unknown
number, and when I answered, it turned out to be an
HR manager from a company where I had applied for
an internship. Since I had just graduated, I was eager
to start gaining experience, so I had submitted my
application there.

The HR manager began by asking me a few questions

about my educational background, which I answered
calmly. She then mentioned that they were
interested in interviewing me and asked if I was
available for a conversation right then. After
confirming my availability, we agreed to schedule
the formal interview for later in the week.

It was a bit surprising and sudden, but I was excited at

the same time, as it was the kind of opportunity I had
been hoping for. The conversation went smoothly,
and I felt confident about the upcoming interview. It
was a reminder of how quickly things can change,
and I was glad I was prepared for a surprise call.

5. Describe your favorite food at a traditional

festival or a special event in your country
• What it is.
• At which festival/event you eat it.
• How it is made.
• Explain why you like it.

One of my favorite foods is Kacchi Biryani, a flavorful

rice dish that is typically made with goat meat,
basmati rice, and a variety of spices. It’s especially
popular during wedding festivals in my country,
where it is a central part of the celebration. The dish
is served at almost every wedding, bringing families
and friends together to share in the joy of the
occasion.
Kacchi Biryani is made by marinating the goat meat in
a rich mixture of spices, which usually includes
cardamom, cumin, and cinnamon. The marinated
meat is then layered with partially cooked basmati
rice and potatoes.
Everything is cooked slowly on low heat, allowing the
flavors to infuse the meat and rice perfectly. The
result is a dish with tender meat, aromatic rice, and
the perfect blend of spices.

I love Kacchi Biryani because of the fusion of flavors.

The tender goat meat, combined with the aromatic
spices and the fragrant rice, creates a
mouthwatering dish that is both satisfying and rich in
taste. The potatoes also add a special texture to the
dish. Beyond the taste, Kacchi Biryani represents
more than just a meal—it’s a symbol of celebration
and tradition. During weddings, the whole family
comes together to prepare it, and it’s often shared
with friends and extended family. The aroma fills the
air, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. For me,
it’s a reminder of the importance of family, tradition,
and the joy of sharing a meal during special
occasions.

country. The mall features a wide array of national and
international brands, making it a prime destination for

The neighborhood is also home to Hardcore

International School, a prestigious English medium

programs, making it a popular choice for families seeking
quality education for their children.

Overall, Bashundhara Residential Area is an ideal place to

Describe something you did that made you feel

proud
Ans. One of the proudest moments of my life happened
during a cricket match when I was in 8th grade. I’ve
always loved bowling and rarely got a chance to bat, but
that day, I was sent in as the last batsman. The match
had come down to the wire—we needed 6 runs in the
final over to win.

As I took my position on the crease, my heart was racing,

and the pressure was immense. From the first five balls, I
could only manage 2 runs. The tension was sky-high; my
teammates and spectators were holding their breath. It
all came down to the last ball.

I knew I had to give it everything I had, and surprisingly, I

managed to hit a perfect boundary! The ball raced past
the fielders, and the crowd erupted in cheers. I couldn’t
believe what had just happened—I had secured the win
for my team!

That moment taught me the importance of staying calm

under pressure and never giving up, no matter how tough
the situation might seem. It remains a memory I cherish
deeply, reminding me that surprises can happen if you
believe in yourself and give your best effort.
