OVERVIEW
The method to be taken to convert your foreign pilot license into a UAE GCAA license will depend on
your current license(s) held, the license you are trying to obtain, and the hours and type(s) of aircraft
you have experience with.

AIRCRAFT
Diamond DA40, Cessna 172 with G1000 equipped for single engine and
DA42 with G1000 for Multi Engine.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE ENROLLMENT


Current and valid foreign license issued by ICAO contracting state
Copy of authenticated pilot log book
Valid UAE GCAA medical certificate
Radio telephone license
Verification letter from the license state of issue (It must declare that the license is valid and current.
This letter is only valid for 3 months from the date of issue.).

COURSE DURATION
The course's length varies from 2 to 7 weeks, contingent upon factors such as the type of license, flight
hours, and the pilot’s proficiency in completing exams and flight training.
TRAINING PROGRAM
The course program will depend on the student’s lapsed of Instrument Rating or Class
Rating. Below are the brief details of course period depends on the lapsed of the ratings.

2 WEEKS
Type Technical Training (If required)

PPL(A) VFR Flight Training (4 hours Single Engine).


Exams: PPL skill test (1.5 hours)
UAE air law, Operation procedure,
Human Performance and Type tech.

2 WEEKS
Type Technical Training (If required)

PPL/IR (A) Flight Training (5 hours Single Engine).


Exams: PPL skill test (1.5 hours)
UAE air law, Operation procedure,
Human Performance and Type tech.

2 WEEKS
Type Technical Training (If required)
CPL SE (A) VFR Flight Training (4 hours Single Engine).

FLIGHT EXPERIENCE*
Pilots with advanced flight experience who meet any of the specified flight training qualifications below
will be exempt from taking exams, and will only be required to complete the conversion exam (Air Law
and Operational Procedures).
• 250 hours on multi pilot Aeroplane accumulated in commercial operations; or
• 500 hours on single pilot high performance complex Aeroplane accumulated
in commercial operations; or
• 750 hours on single pilot high performance non-complex Aeroplane;
accumulated in commercial operations; or
• 500 flight instructional experience.
