CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the Research Design, Research Locale, Participants and

Sampling, Data Collection Procedure, Research Ethics, and Data Analysis of the study.

Research Design

This section discusses the specific research design to be used in this qualitative

research study, such as phenomenology, narrative, ethnography, grounded theory, etc.

You have to establish the meaning/definition of the Research Design and how this design

will be utilized to extract the needed data and achieve the objectives of the study.

Research Locale

Discuss the setting or locale of your study, which will be where your data

gathering takes place, and explain the reasons for choosing this locale.

Participants and Sampling Technique

You have to explain who and why these participants should be part of this study.

From the previous literature, identify the appropriate sampling technique that may be

utilized in this study and how it should be used. You may use non-probabilistic sampling

techniques such as Purposive Sampling, Convenient Sampling, Snowball Sampling,

Quota Sampling, and many more that may be appropriate for your study.

Data Collection Procedure

This section is composed of three paragraphs; the first paragraph tells the

preliminary procedure prior to conducting the interview. This includes the preparation

and distribution of necessary documents such as the letter of intent, Consents and

Assents, Permits to different agencies.

The second paragraph discusses the instrument or the interview protocol

developed, adopted, or modified by the research to mine the data needed for the study. It

also reveals the concept of the validation process of the instrument used.

The last paragraph indicates the proper handling of data extracted from the

participants by keeping the data anonymous and/or confidential.

Ethical Consideration

This section should provide the general principles of ethics that the researcher

must follow for the study. It discusses the ethical standards considered by the researcher

in conducting this research, such as Conflict of Interest, Vulnerability, Anticipated Risks

and Discomforts, Benefits, Confidentiality, Anonymity, and other Considerations that the

researcher needs to establish.

Data Analysis

This section discusses the data analysis techniques employed in your study. From

the use of Tools, Apps, or any assisting programs for the analysis to generating final

findings should be discussed in this part in a systematic procedure.
