place to ensure that the health and well-being of children in care are promoted and that all children receive
timely Initial Health Assessments (IHAs), Review Health Assessments (RHAs) and dental checks that are in
line with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The Local Authority is responsible for around 320 Looked After Children. There are approximately 200 new
accommodations each year.

Close by is the Early Years Centre (EYC), a joint Health and Local Authority service catering for children with
special needs up to 8 years of age. Co-located in the EYC are Contact, who provides a wide range of support
services and the Wandsworth Autism Advisory Service (WAAS). The EYC currently provides a range of

transition of paediatric neurodisability to adult neurology service. The service is supported by a neurodisability
nurse specialist.
