1. MORIONES FESTIVAL
❑ is a religious festival held in the
island of Marinduque, Philippines
during Holy Week.
❑honors Saint Longinus, a Roman
centurion who became a Christian
after Jesus' crucifixion.
❑Moriones came fromthe Spanish
root-word morion which means
mask.
2. SAKNUNGAN FESTIVAL
❑ 4th week of April
❑Saknungan, a Mangyan word
means bayanihan, the spirit of
cooperation and unity.
❑A thanksgiving festival of San
Jose for the blessings of the
province.
