LOCATION
Redbricks School main campus is located on Rancharda – Santej Road, an upcoming educational hub and beautiful
area in Ahmedabad. It is about 15 kms from Judges Bunglow crossroads and 10 kms from S.P. Ring Road.
With the environmental responsibility perspective in mind, the school does not promote the use of Air-conditioners
in all classrooms and its buses. The school also believes that children need to experience naturalistic environments
rather than shielding them through artificial facilities. During the peak summer month of April, shorter school
timings are considered as and when required.
ACADEMICS
Redbricks School is a Class 1 to Class 12 School with Primary Years Program (Class 1 to Class 6), and Senior School
Program (Class 7 to Class 12). It is currently affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations,
New Delhi (CISCE), and is projected to also affiliate with an International board (mostly the Cambridge Assessment
International Education, UK (CAIE) board- commonly known as Cambridge board) for high school examinations.
International board batch will be started subject to a minimum strength of students required to justify the cost and
delivery of the program. The fees for the international board program will be determined and declared while
starting the first batch.
- CISCE Board offers ICSE (Class 9,10) and ISC (Class 11,12) Qualifications for high school.
- CAIE Board offers IGCSE (Class 9,10) and A & AS Levels (Class 11,12) Qualifications for high school.
In Class 1 to Class 8, the core subjects are- Mathematics, English, Hindi, Gujarati, Environmental Science (Science
and Social Science from class 7 onwards), and Information & Communications Technology (ICT).
As per recent regulations, Gujarati should be taught as a compulsory third language upto Class 8 and schools are to
introduce this in a phased manner over the years. French is provided as an option for students who are eligible for
exemption. More details for each grade will be shared separately with parents.
In Class 9 & 10 ICSE, the compulsory subjects are - English, Hindi, History, Civics and Geography, Mathematics, and
Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Students can choose any one subject between Computer Applications and
Art.
In Class 11 and Class 12 ISC, the school plans to offer all three streams – Science, Commerce and Humanities over
the long run. However, in the initial years, the type and number of streams and subjects offered will be dependent
on the projected student count for these streams. The school has already seen one batch of Class 12 ISC Commerce
and six batches of Class 10 ICSE pass out with exceptional performance.
1
- For Academic Year 2024-25, Science, Commerce and Humanities streams are being offered to the incoming
Class 11 students. Subjects being offered in Science stream are English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths,

● Due to the pandemic or any other unforeseen circumstances, if the school follows a fully remote
learning model or a blended model of learning (partly on- campus and partly from home), then the
school timings may be modified accordingly to suit the school functioning requirements.
The school believes in holistic development of children and therefore has developed a program with a range of
initiatives and activities offered to children. These activities contribute towards development of important life skills
required to succeed in life, especially in the 21st century. Parents have the choice to enroll their children in
Redbricks School with this knowledge and appreciation for the holistic development of their child.
The range of activities covered under Life Skills Development is given as below:
A) Co-curricular Activities*
Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho,
Sports & Games Martial Arts, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Yoga. (different sports will be offered for
different age groups and over the years)
Dramatics, Music, Dance, Visual Art & Design (combinations of
Visual and Performing Arts different art forms may change over the years)
*The above list is indicative and does not limit the school’s right to make changes to the activities offered based on
program innovation and other requirements.
B) Extra-curricular Activities
D) Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Life Skills integrated within the Academic Program
● The school believes that socio-emotional learning and life skills development should be integrated across the
school-wide experiences and culture.
● Therefore the school invests heavily in training and coaching all its teachers to embed SEL and life skills
education throughout the curriculum, pedagogy and instruction of all subjects. Life skills include skills such as
Learning and Innovation skills, Thinking skills (critical, creative, reflective), Social and Emotional (SEL)
skills/Emotional Intelligence, Career skills (adaptability, initiative, productivity, leadership, etc.), and
Technological skills, amongst others.
● Ongoing parent education workshops and educational events are also planned and hosted with this purpose.
With the recent experience of remote learning during the pandemic, the school has developed a renewed focus on
adopting technology in education for a better schooling experience. We also understand that technology has its
own limitations and should be used judiciously especially when working with children.
During a regular physical school experience, we do not expect students to have their own personal devices for
learning purposes. They can share devices with other family members as required for asynchronous learning /
periodic synchronous learning from home. As a part of the student code of conduct, students are not allowed to
bring any technological devices to the school.
Please note that during the pandemic when the school had to fully shift to remote learning, it was critical for each
student to have access to one device for a few hours a day for learning purposes. Similar future situations may
require such an access.
HOMEWORK POLICY
● A clear weekly homework schedule is prepared according to the age level of children. The homework is
usually application-based or linked to concepts already taught in class for reinforcement.
4
● Expected to be done by children, and not adults.
● Teachers may also use homework as a tool to enable ‘flipped learning’ - that is ‘knowledge acquisition’ at home
and ‘knowledge application’ in the school. This helps children develop deeper understanding, problem solving
abilities and higher-order thinking skills.
TUITION POLICY
● No external tuition is allowed for primary grades (atleast until completion of Class 4). Children with special
needs/learning disabilities might need after-school special education with qualified special educators, and that
should be provided by the parents.
● Extra academic support will be provided at the school if the need is identified between the parents,
teachers, and principal. Remedial classes are only offered for English and Maths subjects for students
who are identified to be eligible for these classes (they need to demonstrate a significant skill gap for
these purposes). Remedials in Hindi/other core subjects might be offered for selected students in senior
school. For other subjects, the teachers may suggest extra activities/rigour which parents can do at
home.
● Tuition needs can be discussed with the teacher and principal, after which a joint decision can be
taken in the interest of the child.
● Redbricks Teachers are strictly prohibited from taking tuition/extra classes of Redbricks students
beyond the school. Parents should not approach Redbricks teachers for after-school tuition
purposes.
TEXTBOOKS
● We have chosen textbooks that are creative and application-oriented, and that align with the
requirements of CBSE (NCERT), CISCE and International Cambridge (CAIE) boards until Class 6. From Class
7, textbooks aligned to the CISCE board requirements are used to align to the board curriculum
requirements.
● These are supplemented by materials developed in-house by our academic team.
● Textbooks are not used as bibles, but as reference books for students and teachers, especially until Class 6.
● English is taught through a literature program which uses carefully selected, award-winning children’s literature
books from India and around the world. (Class 1-6 fully, Class 7 onwards partially)
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
● Parents have to obtain the Admission Form (online link) from the front desk Counselor.
● Parents may request for an information session with an academic representative of the school.
● An interaction of the child and the parents with the admissions committee is required. The child will be
required to complete an aptitude worksheet (Class 1 onwards) to gauge the child’s current ability.
● The counselor will revert with a confirmation call after the decision of the admissions committee. If the
seats are full, then the admission will be waitlisted, and parents will be intimated about the decision as and
when the vacancy arises on the list.
● Parents will be required to submit necessary documents and pay fees within 3 days of the above
confirmation to process the admission.
AGE CRITERION: The age of the child to be eligible for admission should be at least as below, by 01 st June 2024.
There is no specific age criterion for admissions to Class 5 to Class 12. The child should have successfully completed
the earlier class and must complete an aptitude worksheet for teachers to understand the child’s current ability.

Account Name: Redbricks Education Foundation
Account No.: 3644426638

■ PDCs of the 2nd and 3rd installment are still required to be submitted to the school latest by 30th
April 2024.
■ For a lump sum payment by cheque or online payment, the entire total annual fees will have to
be paid together on or before 5th April 2024.
■ From this year, we are adopting a “No Cash Payment Policy”. Hence no cash payment will be
accepted for any fees payment. All the payments must be made either through cheques or
online transfer.
■ We are in the process of finalizing an “Online Fees Payment” solution. Once this is finalized, we
will communicate the details appropriately.
● Fees once paid are neither refundable nor transferable under any circumstances.
● Administrative charges for bounced cheques will be Rs. 500/- per instance.
9
● Late fee payment will attract a fine of Rs. 50/- per day.
● If parents fail to clear the fees by 30th April 2024, then the school can allot the seat to waitlisted
students and initiate an admission cancellation process and parents will be informed of the same. If
a written request is received from parents before this date, for an extension for fees, then the school
may consider extension of the deadline until 31st May 2024. Beyond this time period, the school will
initiate cancellation of admission, and would not be able to allow students to attend classes until all
required fees and charges under all heads are cleared.
● For any admission withdrawal while the academic year is in progress, the parents will be required to-
- Submit a withdrawal application by email on the counselor email id one month in advance, and
- Pay the full fees until the end of the respective installment period. All the remaining dues have to be settled
before the withdrawal can be processed.
● If a child does not attend school for 3 months or more without any leave notification or any withdrawal
application, then the admission will be deemed as cancelled. No Refund of fees will be provided
thereafter.
● In case a child needs to repeat a particular class due to any reasons, there will be no fee discounts
provided, because the school does not incur any cost savings in such cases.
● If a child needs to temporarily take a drop year, then the admission will be deemed canceled and the seat
may be provided to another child who is seeking admission / is on the waitlist. Parents will have to reapply
for admission later and admission will be granted based on availability of seats at that time.
D) TRANSPORTATION:
Redbricks School-Santej provides bus transportation to the students, covering major areas of the city. A list of the major
areas served is given below:
Note:
● The school has designed standard bus routes which cover these areas with required stops. The bus stops are
planned in a way that they are closely accessible for most students while also not adding too much to the total
travel time. We request parents to adhere to these stops and make a selection from the provided stops.
Requests for new stops will not be entertained unless required for critical reasons.
● The standard route chart will be shared with parents at the start of the year for continuing students/ at the
time of admission for new admissions, for taking a confirmation on the selected route and pick up/drop point
from the chart.
● We would also recommend that Parents stick to the choice of their pick up/drop up throughout the academic
year. We do understand that due to change in residence sometimes change is needed in such cases, please
inform us well ahead through email to the front desk counselor. In such cases, the school will make all the efforts
10
to give the best possible solution keeping in view the transportation constraints. We recommend that Parents
should accept the solution finalized by the school transportation team.
● We have experienced parents asking for temporary changes of bus pick up/drops to manage the child's social/
or other schedules. Please note we discourage such practices, because it will disrupt our standardized
checks/monitoring, and increase security risks of your child traveling in the wrong bus, or waiting at the wrong
drop point, which is a huge security risk.
● The management reserves the right to change, remove, or add any new bus route or stop to existing ones as
and when required.
● School Teachers/Staff members accompany students in the morning bus routes. All Buses have installed GPS systems
and CCTV cameras for safety monitoring.
● We operate a mix of 3-seater and 2-seater buses. Please be advised that when three students are required to sit on
one seat, they are 3-seater buses as per manufacturer’s capacity. We plan the seating arrangements in the buses
keeping in view the manufacturer’s capacity, in the best possible manner and maximum convenience possible for the
travelers. We advise students to not occupy space on their seats with their bags, as that impacts the overall bus
capacity utilization thereby increasing operating costs and transport charges.
The Annual Transportation Fees are payable in three installments. In addition to the first installment, Post Dated
Cheques (PDCs) for the remaining two installments must also be deposited. Please note the dates for the 3
installments, and pay the due transport fees along with PDCs on time.
For your specific KM slabs and pick-up points, as mentioned earlier, the AY 24-25 standard bus routes details will
be circulated before the beginning of the new school year.
Please note in case of any disruption / change in physical schooling due to the pandemic or any other cause for a
period of more than a month, the school will decide on a prorata based fees adjustment for the next installment,
only to the extent of reduced fuel costs.
If the transport dues are not cleared within 30 days of the installment deadline, then transport services will be
temporarily withdrawn until clearance of the dues. The school may also withdraw transport privileges (temporarily
or permanently) if the child’s behaviour poses a psychological/physical threat to the safety of himself/herself and
other fellow passengers.
11

has been introduced keeping in mind parents’ convenience.
● The charges collected by the school are to cover the cost of materials/activities provided.
