Services port utility service commands132413

The document outlines the Services Port feature of Utility Services for Avaya, which allows access to deployed Virtual Machines and the Hypervisor via Layer 3 Routing. It details several commands for managing guest information, IP forwarding, and SSH access to the AVP, along with examples of usage and outputs. Additionally, it describes the deployment modes for Utility Services and commands to check system resource values within a virtual machine.

Services Port
The Services Port feature of Utility Services allows a laptop connected to the Services Port of AVP to access any of the deployed Avaya Virtual Machines
as well as the Hypervisor.
This is achieved by using the Layer 3 Routing capability that is supported by the Linux Kernel to route traffic between the Public, Services, and Out of Band
Management networks - all three of these are automatically created and supported by AVP.
This feature includes a few new related commands that are detailed below.
Please note that all shell scripts are located in /opt/avaya/common_services

Services Port: Guestinfo

This command displays a list of installed Virtual Machines and their IP addresses. It also lists the IP address of the AVP Hypervisor.
Usage: Guest_Info

Example Output:

=======================================
Current available Guest Information is:
=======================================

Virtual Machine Name Management IP Address

-------------------------------------------------------------

AVP Hypervisor 192.168.13.6

CM-Simplex1 10.129.154.105
Ubuntu V13 135.64.158.80
Utility Services_7_5 135.64.158.45

Services Port: IP Forwarding

Usage: IP_Forward enable|disable|status
Options:
enable enable IP Forwarding and also confirm with status
disable disable IP Forwarding and also confirm with status

AVP Version.
All AVP guest VMs will have a guest info variable guestinfo.avp.version populated with the AVP Release version. A return of 'No value found' will indicate
the host is not AVP.

[admin@us8 ~]$ /usr/sbin/vmtoolsd --cmd 'info-get guestinfo.avp.version'

Release: 7.0.0.0.0.20
[admin@us8 ~]$

Utility Services Mode

Utility Services is able to be deployed in three modes:
· Full Functionality ( default );

· Utility Services Only;

· Services Port Only;

This option is ONLY available at deployment time and cannot be changed after the Virtual Machine has been installed.
A copy of this mode is stored in mode_flag_file for reference purposes.

Virtual Machine Resources

There are some simple commands that can be executed within a virtual machine to display the values of some system resources - e.g. CPU Reservations
and Memory Reservations.
This are detailed below together with some sample values for Utility Services.

Memory Reservations:
/usr/bin/vmware-toolbox-cmd stat memres
0 MB

CPU Reservations:
/usr/bin/vmware-toolbox-cmd stat cpures
0 MHz

CPU Speed:
/usr/bin/vmware-toolbox-cmd stat speed
2267 MHz
