Bullying – A Serious Problem

Introduction:

• Bullying is when someone hurts, humiliates, or threatens another person


repeatedly.

• There are different types of bullying: physical, verbal, social, and


cyberbullying.

• It is important to talk about bullying to make schools and other places safer
for everyone.

• Many people suffer from bullying around the world, and it can cause serious
problems.

Main Body:

1. Why Do People Bully?

o Some bullies lack empathy and don’t understand how their actions
hurt others.

o Some learn to be aggressive from violence at home or in the media.

o Peer pressure makes some people bully to fit in or feel powerful.

o Social media allows bullying to continue even outside of school.

o Effects of Bullying:

o Bullying makes people feel sad, scared, or worried.

o It can make school harder because victims feel afraid.

o Some victims stop talking to others and feel alone.

o Bullies can also have problems in the future.

2. Examples of Bullying:
Social bullying: Telling lies, leaving someone out, or making fun of
them in front of others.
Physical bullying: Hitting, pushing, or taking things.

Verbal bullying: Calling bad names or making jokes.

Cyberbullying: Sending mean messages online, posting hurtful


comments, or sharing private photos without permission.

Racial bullying: Treating someone badly because of their skin color,


culture, or nationality. This can include racist jokes, insults, or
discrimination.

According to a survey by DataSenado, 6.7 million students suffered


some type of violence at school in the last 12 months, representing 11%
of the almost 60 million enrolled students.

such as threats or verbal abuse, which is equivalent to 37.8% of the
institutions surveyed.
