The heavens declare

the glory of God

Psalm 19:1

Lesson 1:
Who is God?
Set the Scene
Think about the vastness of the universe—
the billions of stars, the complexity of life,
and the beauty of nature. When we see
intricate design, we naturally assume there
must be a designer. If our world shows such
order and purpose, could it be that there is a
Creator behind it all?
Many people have different ideas about God.
Some see Him as distant or unknowable,
while others think of Him as a force or
energy. But what if God is personal and
wants to be known? The Bible presents a
God who is not only powerful but also
relational. Who is this God, and what does
He reveal about Himself?
Discovering God’s Truth Focus
Scriptures and Discussion sections is
now combined into one section called
Discovering God’s Truth.
1. Read: Genesis 1:1. What does
Genesis 1:1 tell us about who created
the world? Simple and straight
forward.
2. Read: Jeremiah 10:12. How does this
verse show that God is powerful and
wise? I have replaced Isaiah 40:28 with
Jeremiah 10:12 which is more direct.
3. When you face challenges, how does
knowing God’s wisdom and strength
affect your response? Application
question
4. Read: Acts 17:24-27. This passage
tells us that God created everything
and is near to us. Why do you think it is
important that God is not distant but
close to us? No difficult interpretation
of scripture. Emphasize God, though
powerful, is not distant.
5. Have you ever had a moment where
you felt God might be real or near, even
if you weren’t sure? What was that
like? Intend to generate conversation
6. Read: Genesis 1:26. What does it
mean that God made people in His
image?
7. How does knowing you are created in
God's image shape your understanding
of your identity and purpose? Retained
as per discussion.
8. Read: John 14:9. In John 14:9, Jesus
says that if we see Him, we see God.
How does this help us understand who
God is, even though we can't see Him?
Jesus reveals the invisible God.
9. Before today, how would you have
described God? Has anything in these
passages changed or deepened your
understanding of Him? Retained as per
discussion.
Action Steps
• Take time to observe the world around
you this week—the beauty of nature, the
vastness of the sky, or the details of life.
Reflect on how these things point to a
Creator.
• Memorize Genesis 1:1 as a reminder
that God is the Creator.
• Share with your mentor or write in a
journal how your view of God has
changed or deepened after this lesson.
Prayer

revealing Yourself through
creation, through Your Word, and
through Jesus Christ. Help me to
know You more deeply and to
trust in Your wisdom and power.
Open my heart to see You at work
in my life and the world around
me. Amen.”
For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23

Lesson 2:
Sinand
Lesson 2: Sin and Salvation
Salvation
Set the Scene
Imagine you’re lost in a dark forest at night.
You have no map, no phone, and no way to
find your way out. Every path you take seems
to lead deeper into the woods, and fear
starts to set in. Then, in the distance, you see
a light. A rescuer appears, holding a lantern
and calling your name. He knows the way out
and offers to lead you to safety. All you have
to do is trust Him and follow.
Sin is like that forest—it traps us in darkness
and confusion, leading us further from God.
But Jesus is the light who finds us, calls us by
name, and leads us to salvation.
Discovering God's Truth
1. Read: Romans 3:23. What does this
verse tell us about ALL people? Simple
and straight forward.
2. Romans 3:23 says sin is falling short of
God's glory. How is this different from
how you previously understood sin?
Opportunity for the definition of sin.
3. Read: Romans 6:23. What is the
consequence of sin? What does God
offer instead? Simple and straight
forward
4. If you compare this to receiving a
precious gift, how does it make you feel
to know that God offers salvation as a
free gift? Makes it easily relatable to new
Christians.
5. Read: Isaiah 59:2. What happens to our
relationship with God when we sin? In
addition to death, sin results in
separation from God.
6. Read: John 3:16. What does John 3:16
say about how much God loves us?
Straight forward
7. What does it mean to you personally
that God loves you enough to send
Jesus to save you? Personal reflection

Ephesians 2:8-9 say about how we can
be saved? Straight forward

the grace-based nature of salvation

being a good person was enough to be

importance of trusting in Jesus
