The line graph shows the percentage of visitors to four places, including aquariums, castles,
Zoos, and festivals, in Scotland over the past 30 years.

Overall, the share of tourists visiting aquariums and festivals saw a downward trend, while the
upward trend was seen in castles and zoos. Additionally, the castles were the most popular place
over the years, while the opposite was true for the zoos.

In 1980, the percentage of people who visited castles was 20%, twice as much as the figures for
zoos, at 10%. Over the next five years, the share of castle visitors increased dramatically and
peaked at 45% before falling sharply to 10% in 2010. On the other hand, there were some minor
fluctuations around 10 to 15% over the first 20 years, then the figure for zoo visitors increased
significantly to 20% at the end of the period.

As for the other categories, 30% of tourists chose to visit the festival, making it the most visited
place in 1980, in comparison with 20% visiting aquariums. The percentage of visitors choosing
to visit the aquarium increased sharply to 35% in 5 years, surpassing the figure for festival
visitors to become the most visited place, following a significant drop to under 20% in 2010.
Meanwhile, the percentages of visiting festivals remained to decline throughout the period,
reaching 15% at the end of the period.
