This chapter first discusses the pivotal role of Muhammad ʻAlī Jināh in the creation of Pakistan.
It considers his thoughts on constitutionalism and Islam, and Muslim opposition to the creation
of Pakistan. It then examines the role of Islam in the drafting of Pakistan's three constitutions
from 1947 to 1973.
