MANRIDER CHECKLIST

Date: Task:

Designated Manriding Supervisor shall be present: (Drill Floor: TP or DSL / Moon Pool: TP, DSL or SSS) OK

1 Pre-job planning / TBRA meeting completed - individual roles & responsibilities discussed & verified through questioning
2 Confirm satifactory experience levels and competency of personnel and ensure they understand their responsibilities
3 Review Rescue Plan including rescue equipment nominated.
4 Ensure Emergency lifting and lowering Device is functional.
5 Check Rig Air Supply is fully operational and will be available for the duration of the job
6 Verify warning signage "Manriding Operation in Progress" in place at Drillers console
7 Barricades and signs errected below and around the worksite and at any lower affected areas
8 Verify that only approved competent personnel are in place to operate the Man-riding winch.
9 Approved PTW in place

Manriding Signalman/Banksman

1 Review Manriding Hand Signals with Rider and Winch Operator

2 Identify a suitable signalling position - establish clear line of sight of both the Manrider and Winch Operator for the duration of activity

3 Acknowledge the essential requirement to shut down the operation immediately if sight is lost of the Manrider at any time

4 Act as Buddy to Rider and double check the correct fitting of the harness and secondary fall protection attachment
Note: A second Signalman [with radio] at the Monkeyboard must be used as a safety watch and supplementary signalman if
manriding activity above the monkey board is undertaken.

Manriding User

1 Review TBRA and PTW with Designated Manriding Supervisor and crew
2 Confirm MR hand signals with Signalman and maintain both hands free for signal purposes during ascent & descent.
3 Ensure use of dedicated or approved Manriding Air Winches only.
4 Check condition of harness and ensure it is fitted correctly with all straps fastened.
5 Ensure hard hat is fitted with a chinstrap and secured. Check all pockets are empty of potential DROPS
6 Check no loose items of clothing are worn
7 Ensure that secondary fall protection (SRL or rope system) is attached correctly to appropropriate D-ring on the man rider harness.
9 Inspect the winch wire at terminations, verify approved connectors in use and secure at the front D Rings (if TLD not in use).
10 Be aware of catching feet, hands and extremities when conducting manriding operations
11 Check that a clear landing area is available on the Rig Floor prior to lifting.
12 Ensure that any tools accompanying the Rider are DROPS tools and are secured using approved lanyards.

Manriding Winch Operator

1 Before activity, inspect wire for correct spooling, free of broken wires, kinks or bird-caging and line correctly clamped in Drum.
2 Winch Operator shall only operate the winch from the control side.
3 Confirm / demonstrate knowledge of Manriding hand signals with the Rider and Signalman
4 Shall keep the designated signalman in sight at all times and stop all operations if communications disrupted
5 Halt operations if in doubt. Never move the winch if unsure of the signal or direction from the Signalman.
6 Be familiar with the location and operation of the Emergency Stop Valve. Check operation before start of man riding operation.
7 Immediately stop operations if the Signalman warns he cannot see the Rider.

POST JOB

1 Designated Manriding Supervisor shall remove the warning signs at the Driller Console and barriers from work area
2 Rider shall store the harness by hanging it from the rear D-Ring in designated storage location
Winch Operator shall fasten the winch to designated (color coded) padeye and take up the slack to ensure the cable is not 'Hung Up'
3
in critical path equipment or presents a hazard for other Derrick activity
4 All - Operations review been held and comments recorded to be added to Step-By-Step / TBRA
5 Winch Operator - Manrider inspected after job is complete.
