A. Reviewing previous  Preliminary Activities:

 Review:
Ask the pupils the recall the last week’s topic.
Ask them to give the different kinds of
demonstrative pronouns. Show pictures and let
them fill in the blanks with the correct
demonstrative pronoun to complete the sentence.

B. Establishing a purpose  Motivation


for the lesson (Motivation) Play a game called “Find my Place”

Teacher will hand out pictures to each pupil (these


will be given out in advance). Each pupil will receive
a cut-out picture of animals and a picture of a red
house. The teacher will ask pupils to read two set of
sentences as a given clue. The pupils will then
arrange the position of the animals depending on
the sentence.

C. Presenting Examples /  Unlocking of Difficult Words

journey – The journey by bus takes several hours.

hurriedly – The dog ran hurriedly.

 Story Telling
Ask the pupils to listen to the story “The Frightened
Little Rabbit”.

Remind them
of the standards for good listening.

After watching and listening to the story, ask the


pupils the following questions:
1. Who is the main character in the story?
2. What did the rabbit see between the flowers?
3. Where did the rabbit go when he heard a tiger
coming?
4. How do you think we should react if there is a
danger?

 Discussion
Go through the pupil’s answer in number two and
three.

There is a wooden chest between the flowers.


The rabbit hid inside the chest.

Ask: What is the underlined word?

Give another sentence from the motivation:

Horse lives under the goat.

Ask: What is the underlined word?

 How do we show kindness to our pets?


 Should we wash our hands after touching our pet?
D. Discussing new concepts Introduce the word preposition and its definition. Give

While giving the different kinds of preposition of place, the


teacher will demonstrate the position of each preposition
using a box and a ball. After showing the example, the
students will then demonstrate the preposition using their
body parts. The teacher will ask the pupils to copy the
teacher’s action every time a preposition is introduced.

Give three pictures of a mouse in different locations.
Answer the given question by writing a complete

Group 2. Sing and Dance the Preposition


Sing a simple song that has prepositions in the lyrics,
try to dance along the tune. Perform the song and
dance in front of the class.

Group 3. Model a Preposition


Choose three examples from prepositions of place
then act out the preposition. In every example, you
must speak out the sentence after doing the action.

Introduce the Aeta to the pupils. Explain that these natives


are also Filipino. They are located in isolated regions
along the foothills of Mount Pinatubo in the Zambales
Range in the province of Pampanga. For this activity, the
children will identify the position of the boy in the picture
using the correct preposition.

Can you give an example of how to be kind to other
people?
