Activity: Gratitude

Write down your impressions of how you felt during the process and answer the following
questions:
1) What did it feel like to extend gratitude towards the three people you thanked? How did each of
them feel and what were their reactions towards you?

I felt a deep joy when I realized that my words of gratitude could make them happy and
brighten their day.
They thanked me, smiled and were moved.
They expressed their desire to maintain this positive bond.

2) What is the role of gratitude in organizations? Have you seen examples of how it increases
effectiveness? Your answers should be detailed and thorough.

Gratitude plays an essential role in organizations, strengthening professional relationships


and creating a positive working environment. It fosters collaboration, reduces stress and
boosts motivation. When employees feel appreciated, they are more committed and
productive.

3) What are the barriers to expressing gratitude? How are they overcome? Your answer should include
and explain in detail at least three (3) barriers to expressing gratitude and how they are overcome.

Obstacle 1: Lack of time or habit


In a work environment where people are constantly busy, expressing gratitude may seem a
lower priority.
Solution:
Establishing moments dedicated to gratitude, such as meetings where successes are shared,
can integrate this habit into the routine.

Obstacle 2: Fear of being perceived as weak


Some people are reluctant to show their gratitude, fearing it will be interpreted as a lack of
authority or weakness.
Solution:
Promote a culture where gratitude is seen as a strength, by encouraging leaders to lead by
example.

Obstacle 3: Difficulty in expressing gratitude


Some people don't know how to express their gratitude sincerely, which can make their
attempts awkward or superficial.
Solution:
Offer communication training to help employees verbalize their feelings and acknowledge
contributions authentically
