How to Make an Immersion Report

Grade 12

I. Introduction
 Provides a general overview of the immersion report and included
documents (narrative report, reflection paper, forms, photos, etc.).
 Briefly describes each document type and its purpose.
 States the purpose and scope of the immersion experience and report.
 Explains the objectives of the work immersion program for the student.
 Sets expectations for what the report will cover.

II. Narrative Report


 Begins with a personal introduction of the student.
 Includes name, academic track/strand, and the name of the
company/organization.
 Describes daily activities over the immersion period (e.g., 5 days, X
hours).

For Each Day:

1. Details the events and tasks performed.


Provides specific examples of tasks and responsibilities.

Includes interactions with staff and colleagues.

2. Highlights any challenges encountered and how they were addressed.


Describes the problem-solving process and the student's role.
3. Notes observations about the workplace culture and environment.
Addresses the dress code, communication styles, and overall atmosphere.

Records any specific skills utilized or learned during the day.

III. Reflection Paper


 Offers a personal reflection on the work immersion experience.
Expresses overall impressions and feelings about the experience.
 Discusses lessons learned and skills acquired.
Identifies specific skills gained or improved (e.g., technical skills,
communication skills, problem-solving skills).
Explains how these skills relate to the student's academic and career goals.
Provides examples of how the student plans to apply these skills in the
future.
 Reflects on relationships and personal growth.
Describes the relationships developed with staff and colleagues.
Discusses how the experience impacted the student's personal and
professional development.
Explores any shifts in perspective or understanding as a result of the
immersion.
Connects the experience to future aspirations and goals.
Addresses any limitations or areas for further improvement.

IV. Workplace Background


 Provides a brief background of the organization.
Includes the full name of the organization.
States the founding date and relevant historical information.
 States the objectives and goals of the organization.
Describes the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Explains the organization's role in the community or industry.
 Provides context for the student's role within the organization.
Explains how the student's tasks contributed to the organization's
objectives.
Connects the organization's goals to the student's learning experience.

V. Appendix

 Includes supporting documents such as:


Daily Time Record (DTR)
Evaluation Forms (completed by supervisor)
Photographs of work activities (with captions)
Other relevant documents or artifacts
