range of titles. Formed in 2011,
Immediate is home to the biggest and most loved lifestyle brands in the UK,
including Radio Times, Good Food, Nutracheck, Historyextra and BBC
Gardeners’ World Magazine. Immediate is part of BurdaInternational, the
international arm of Hubert Burda media, one of Germany's largest
technology and media companies. A family company with a history spanning
more than 100 years, Burda combines traditional publishing with digital
innovation and invests in new and emerging digital business models. Burda
operates more than 500 brands worldwide in the news, tech, food, living,
gardening, fashion, lifestyle, health and entertainment sectors. Burda
International operates in 11 countries, primarily across Europe and Asia
(employing 2,400 people), with a multi-channel platform offering that
includes media, e-commerce, and other innovative services, which appeal to
the passions of its consumers.

Immediate Media Company is considered as a mass media company because


of its wide range of publications and digital platforms, and its ability to reach
a large worldwide audience. They are classed as a multinational company as
they operate in the United Kingdom primarily, but reach over 60 million
consumers worldwide. As well as this, Immediate Media Company is also
classed as a cross media company due to them combining print and digital
publishing. Ownership wise, Immediate is a private-owned company, who are
owned by a bigger company, who is called Hubert Burda Media.

Competing Products

Immediate Media owns the magazine Good Food, costing £4.99, and its
competitor Future PLC owns the magazine Batch Cooking, costing £4.99 too.
Both magazines are seen as competing against each other, for many of
reasons. One of these being they are the same genre magazine. Another
reason being they are the same price point. Because of this, Good Food and
Batch Cooking are competing for the same target audience, meaning both
companies (Immediate media and Future PLC) are competing against each

other.
Future PLC, publisher of Country Life magazine and Immediate Media,
publisher of CountryFile are two magazines which are the same genre and
around about the same price. Both of these magazines are competitive as they
have so many similarities. As Future PLC and Immediate Media are two very
big publishers, publishing almost the same magazine, it makes both
companies competitors.
