- 'Sara reads a book.'
- Subject: Sara
- Predicate: reads a book
2. Types of Subjects
1. Simple Subject: The main noun or pronoun in the subject.
- 'The dog barks.' (Dog is the simple subject.)
2. Complete Subject: The noun plus all the words describing it.
- 'The brown dog barks.' (The brown dog is the complete subject.)
3. Compound Subject: Two or more subjects joined by 'and' or 'or'.
- 'Ali and Ahmed play cricket.' (Ali and Ahmed are the compound subjects.)

1. Simple Predicate: The main verb in the predicate.
- 'The dog barks.' (Barks is the simple predicate.)
2. Complete Predicate: The verb plus all the words describing the action.
- 'The dog barks loudly at night.' (Barks loudly at night is the complete predicate.)
3. Compound Predicate: Two or more verbs joined by 'and' or 'but'.
- 'The dog barks and runs.' (Barks and runs is the compound predicate.)
